Hi Cari and Jeff,
Welcome to SaleHoo, it's great to have you guys here with us :)
We found this site tonite while researching strategies and came across a forum dialogue describing how several members are importing goods into the USA from China slipping under the radar of US Customs ( file:///C:/Users/Dr%20Jeff%20Wood/Desktop/U.S.%20Customs%20Fees%20for%20importing%20from%20China%20%C2%BB%20Importing%20&%20Customs%20%20%20SaleHoo.htm) ...so we joined in part hoping we could find similar ideas for the opposite end of the equation.
Just to clarify, we do not condone the method described above. Although some of our members and suppliers do have a practice of just sending their orders as gifts to avoid paying tariff, we highly discourage this since the gamble and risk is quite high and the consequences are tough when you get caught.
China is known for their strict enforcement of rules and regulations (particularly when things are brought into their country) , so I guess following proper procedure is a must. Importing diamonds/diamond rings outside the outlined and declared way would or may classify what you are doing as smuggling, which is a BIG taboo, you might find this recently written article helpful -

And the outlined policies in this link should help guide you in the entire process -

And yes, she is also interested in finding items from China to import to the USA (and/or other countries) including jewelry.
What products are you and your wife interested in importing into the US? We would be happy to help you locate suitable suppliers.
Hope this helps. If you need anything else please don't hesitate to let us know.
Cheers :)
