If you see this comment in a user’s post:

*******DELETED BY MOD*******

It means the user is not a directory approved supplier for Link hidden: Login to view Be advised it is not recommended that you contact this person until they have registered with Link hidden: Login to view as a Seller and have been cleared to sell to SaleHoo members.

This is for your protection. It is easy for a scammer to get a membership and scam members out of thousands of dollars before admin can catch them. We don’t recommend purchasing product from this or any other person offering items for sale on the forum until they have been cleared by SaleHoo.

When they have been cleared they will have the title

*****Directory Approved Supplier ***** under their username.

Sellers can register with SaleHoo for free by visiting this link and filling in an application form.

wholesale-merchandise/signup-information-for-registered-sellers-t4669.html

If you continue to post items for sale without SaleHoo approval your posts will be deleted and your account may be shut down.

Note that this warning is just a security precaution. It doesn’t mean this member is necessarily a scammer.

Thanks,

Richelle

mmm no words of this company anymore, I think they did not like being around here, but I have an Idea, Why don't the Moderator of the forum let the companies who want to sell to the forum users that check their prices before they post anything here, they come with the idea to sell at retail prices in a wholesale forum, they get annoyed by us asking them wholesale prices. I think they got the wrong idea about this place.

Two points on that just quickly.

Firstly, SaleHoo forum moderators are not involved in servicing registered seller applications. We are only here to assist in customer support, and to monitor forum content.

Secondly, while there is certain criteria that a seller must meet before being authorised, product pricing is not, nor in my own opinion, should it ever be one of those criteria.

I wouldn't even know where you would start with a policy like that. You have to remember that Wholesale is based on volume, the more you buy, the better the price. Where one wholesaler may be cheaper per unit based on 100, another may well be cheaper than them when based on 200.

So who would you list, if you pick supplier one you would get people unhappy because they wanted to buy in larger volume, and if you went with number two you would then get unhappy people because they wanted a smaller option than having to invest in 200 units.

Honestly, that is a no win situation no matter how you slice it.

Of course where most new sellers make the mistake in judging a suppliers price is that they judge it against an ebay price. You have to remember that ebay prices are NOT retail prices, it's a wholesale marketplace, and the prices there reflect those of wholesale or below.

Now there are a whole host of reasons why the prices on ebay are already set at those marks, everything from large sellers buying in massive quantity to get the best price, then cutting their margins to gain market share. Wholesalers themselves using the platform to sell direct, even sellers using ebay for loss leaders to generate of site traffic and so on.

If anyone is going to judge any supplier's price against an ebay price, then I'm afraid that there won't be many that will be able to service those sort of expectations.

People have to realize that there are more ways to sell a product than just on ebay, or even online for that matter. Bricks and mortar store, now there is where you will find retail prices, Weekend markets and so on.

Where a supplier may not be a good fit for ebay, and most aren't, they may well be an excellent fit for a seller using a different avenue to ebay because the market they sell in commands a better price.

That in a nutshell is why we should never set a price criteria on suppliers, that should be left to the sellers to do their own research. I mean this style of business is built around good solid research, always has been and always will be and making sure you are getting the best prices you can should be part of that research.

What's next, members wanting SaleHoo to buy the products and sell them for them. Nice gig if you could get it lol, but seriously, once you start limiting suppliers based on their prices, you seriously start limiting selling options for everyone, well at least for those that don't use ebay lol

Nice one fudjj... very true indeed!

Most of our new members who email us at support asking for a refund uses this as a reason - that our suppliers are not wholesale suppliers because their prices are set at retail.

And this is also why so many sellers (when sourcing their products) will fall victim to scammers because scammers know that they can lure in customers by offering really low prices on highly sought after products.

Yes, price is and should never be the main criteria when screening wholesale suppliers. We have always opt to put safety and legitimacy first when screening supplier applications especially for the directory.

Cheers :)
