Thats kind of whack that you would have to pay in order to become a registered seller per month :P since people have paid 50-100 already for access to this site
I think the monthly charge/lifetime charge will discourage potential sellers

This is only for people that have serious deals for our members. If we make it a free service (as it has been) people abuse it and we get alot of people trying to scam members. This way our members can be assured that the seller is serious and has gone through several tests to get registered.

I hope this helps answer your question?

I mean we can put it to a vote with all members as to what they think the best solution is and go with that. We are always open to feedback and we can let the members decide the best way around this, if it becomes an issue.

Let's trial it for 1 week and see what happens.

How does that sound?

I don't know if you want to say that you'll 'trail' it and see how it works out. Potential sellers will see this post and think that you'll drop your prices if nothing happens.
I think you should firmly set your prices now, before you get people hesitating.
My initial concern was the cost. Most people on Salehoo are entrepreneurs/a small company where they endure many costs as it is; ebay fees, hosting fees, PayPal fees, customs fees, etc. etc.
I think if your going to charge, charge reasonably; 10/month; 150 lifetime, I think are reasonable charges

I think you should have sellers fax the front and back of their credit card also, for added security.
I also think you should have sellers re-register every year, for up to date info.
Also, I highly suggest you guys implement 'itrader'; and put it with registered sellers names. Its a feedback system for forums. It's like ebay's feedback system where you could rate and leave feedback on how your transaction was with the seller. I think there are different versions, just Google it.

Thanks for your comments. We will leave the prices as is, but if it does go down people that have paid will be refunded the difference so they really have nothing to worry about.

Yes the itrader is a great idea and we can add this function in as well!

SC.... since you have your own online store and i have been there, i think you should partner up with salehoo. You could make a bigger profit instead of competing

forgot to mention...

i agree with the 'register' process.
check us sellers out, ensure we are a legitimate company offering great deals to those seeking wholesale items.

GREAT.

but after you validate a company, why make us pay?

you have already taken precaution to validate a company, so you are eliminating the fraudster companies.

i am a bit turned off by the fact that we have to pay. there are enough money hungry companies out there, i was hoping salehoo wouldnt go in that direction. i have been a firm supporter of salehoo, always defending them in forums when they are being bashed. i feel a bit betrayed.

that is my opinion.

thanks
tiffany

imo, it would stop sellers who don't have frequent offers to post. If I have only a couple of deals per month and I'm not sure how it sells, I wouldn't register unless I have a free 1 month trial or something so i can find out the potential sale that might come out of this forum.

But I strongly support the idea of validating the companies before posting. If someone is really a scammer, they wouldn't mind paying such monthly fees to scam the others. so that wouldn't be a good solution to stop scammers.

How about a one off fee to get validated? And this then lasts for a year at which pooint they are re-validated?

How does this sound sellers? What about do you think is reasonable? $50 a year to get validated?

Let us know and we can change this to what members think is the best solution.

No, don't do that. It would be the same thing. One time fee, or a monthly charge...I realized that there is no point to this but to make a few dollars for yourselves.
I agree with mvm, and Guest. I am not a frequent seller, and I can tell you right now most Salehoo members are not frequent sellers.
As Guest said, if someone is really a scammer, they wouldn't mind paying such monthly fees or a one time fee to scam the other salehoo members, they can easily quandriple their earnings from that little investment from one scam.
You charged us a one time fee for a lifetime membership to Salehoo, and now you want to charge us more for certain features for this site. If you guys want to make more money, advertise Salehoo more by including your new features such as your new forum, and access to being able to sell and buy from a whole range of suppliers.
I think charging sellers will discourage potential great suppliers
What if they just want to test out if their products will sell, and then they see the fact you have to pay. I can tell you right now most would just not even bother because there are many other sites where wholesalers can sell their products for free
I agree with the validating process though, just think it should be more thorough

I think if the idea is making money out of this, that's totally up to the Salehoo and members can decide whether or not become a paid member to sell here.

But for Validation, it can be done the way some other free For Sale forums have done with gathering some information to reduce the risk. 99% of Scammers don't have the products they claim they have in stock, so you can make it a requirement to sell only the prodcuts in hand with posting a POS.

I don't agree with charging members a monthly fee to sell. As a seller, I am so tired of EVERYONE charging some type of fee. Enough is Enough! We already paid for this site. I understand the need for verification. Charge a reasonable verification fee. $15 is fair to cover the cost of your time to verify sellers. Please do not try and make more money from us. We are trying to make this happen and we need your and each others support.

We have listened :)

All registered sellers will only be required to pay a $20 one off Admin Fee to cover expenses when investigating wholesalers.

Hope this satisfies everyone and we look forward to you join us :)

If salehoo is gonna charge the 50 bucks at the end of the year to reregister for the next year then that would be great. You get the first year at nothing and if it turns out profitable youll come back. But I'm not sure there are too many sellers on here to do that. I might encourage people to start selling and could be a real good thing for salehoo.

I agree there should be a fee for it... it shows that you are serious about offering to salehoo members.... maybe just a one off fee for the investigations....

Once registered they shouldnt have to register again UNLESS something big changes like someone partners up with that orginal person or the company gets sold to someone else... IMO there should be an investigation done on the person(s) AND the company....
$20 for the company and $20 for each person.... one off fee. I think that is a fair deal

(sorry for the late reply havent been around much)

I have only seen one (MVM). Many people are continuing to sell, promote their sites, and post affiliate links in other sections. Until Salehoo decides to take this seriously and delete posts from non-registered sellers, most will likely continue to post for free.

I personally would feel more comfortable buying from someone who is registered. I have a great offer I am going to post and will send in my credentials to become registered tonight. We'll see how long the process takes...

Yes I am happy to do that. Currrently I am a member of alibaba.com and paid several hundred to be investigated and have our legitimacy checked out. i.e. ABN no., Business name registration ., Phone., postal etc.

Now when someone sees my name on the site it is clearly shown as 'Trust Pass member'. The point about that site is that there are quite a number of large manufacturers as well as importers buying in bulk - By this I mean container loads.

I joined up here to find out exactly how to go about SELLING as a drop shipper since I had only heard about the term and wanted to find out about the procedure. I have been selling on t he net since 1997 solely by mail order and sending them off by Fedex. Now I am getting our patented chairs made under license in China

My website is at - Link hidden: Login to view -

Can anyone advise me as TO INVOICING, LABELLING, FREIGHTING ETC. - the procedure that is when dealing with dropshippers as opposed to retailers.?? Currently my 2 warehouses are in Sydney and in LA.

In view of all this, I suggest that a feedback thread or forum be open, to allow buyers and sellers to give feedback about their transaction so that other potential customers can have a certain reference which doesn't need to be requested for all the time.

Works just like eBay won't it? It'd be good for the newer guys coming in wanting to do some business but are afraid to take certain risks. This will help build good reputation for the seller and better security for the buyer.

Please look into this suggestion. Some sellers here are actually not scammers but due to the reason that we have to register is putting them off. I for one, am just running a small home business but is not registered, so that's a negative aspect for me.

We will be adding a feedback type modification for sellers. Remember it is free to register so well worth doing so if you want to sell :)

Are you registered on eBay or have any documents that we can verify? We need to have something to show that you can be trusted.
