We're looking into starting selling items in large quantities online. However we're struggling to find something with any sort of a profit margin after you take into account the fees charged by the companies themselves and by eBay for listing.

Does anyone know of alternatives to eBay where the listing fees are lower/none existent (if only!) or where the eventual selling prices are higher than eBay? :?:

There are many sites with lower fees but not near the sheer volume of buyers.

Exactly what the previous poster said, ebay is overly swamped with sellers, but has a ton of traffic. But to answer your question, there is epier.com, yahoo auctions, craigslist.com, and there are more...

Here's a list I got for a quick google...I've only used one 'uBid' from the list so I can't tell you much more but even uBid (which is pretty close to the top sites) has a fraction of the trafic that eBay has.

UBid
Bidz
Yahoo Auctions
MSN

Hi, I'm not sure if this will help you in your question but I figure I would answer it anyway.

Another idea you can use which works quite effectively, is to list your auction listings on auction sites like ubid.com or sellatonce which receive a fraction of the traffic eBay does.

And then, simply drive traffic to your listings using an automated traffic generator.

I can tell you some of the best, and most widely successful traffic generators are Link hidden: Login to view , Link hidden: Login to view , Link hidden: Login to view and none other than Link hidden: Login to view

Some of them will require you to have no popups or only one popup, so make sure you do not have those in your listing.

But then, you can generate traffic to your auction listings 24/7 around the clock seven days a week.

In fact, if you get very good at this method and start generating alot of traffic you will get instant sales.

Sales will also come from all over the world, so anytime you sell something using the instant traffic method I reccomend that you be smart about it and locate your international dropshippers.

Once you know your product is hot and you have the dropshipper in place, and you know them pretty well, then sell the products.

You will actually start generating much more from just this method and best of all, its nearly totally free. If you don't want to click links to generate traffic, there is some outstounding autosurf programs available at the sites I listed above.

But also, you will get more fraudulent bids and scammers paying for your items. So that is a con to this method. A way to screen bidders is always require payment by a secure service such as Paypal or Link hidden: Login to view

But even that is not foolproof, so you always have to be on the look out and report scams to Link hidden: Login to view (official bureau agency)

I hope this was helpful or at least gave you a better idea. I'm an intermediate at this so I've had alot of experience, and trust me, you always want to be sure your dropshipper is good and you can screen out scam artists.

One more site I would reccomend is Link hidden: Login to view , and then use a traffic generator. You also want to migrate your feedback so check some of the higher traffic auction sites for the migration option, this helps immensely.

Good luck!

Bid pay has very strick requirements for sellers. They changed everything not to long ago And I almost lost my account because I deleted thier messages about the changes and didnt update my information.

They are now quoting a 100% No fraud guarantee. And throwing commercials up all over the tv stations.

So they are planning a big boost in buyers soon. Im not sure how well it will go over but we shall see. Ive rarely used them myself.

I'm very new to Salehoo, but have seriously selling for nearly a year. Link hidden: Login to view has a very different seller site.

fees are very low; however, they do not have the traffic as ebay.

We tried several auction sites for the exact same items and traffic was:

eBay: 75%
all others: 25%

Items sold:
eBay: 70%
all others: 30%

It's very true that eBay is expensive and can be a pain but... it works for us.

Does anyone do good on Link hidden: Login to view

I just found Link hidden: Login to view and really like it (alot like ebay) and it has free store.

Maybe Link hidden: Login to view may be another alternative??
You only have to pay fees once your auction sells not before.

Hi Guys

I lost my PowerSeller account on ebay on 4th Feb and this is as usual.

Ebay answer me unjustified suspend!!!??? which is really frustrating me.

I set and keep thinking what I can do I have a stock of goods and dont know what I can do and where to go.

I'm seriously thinking to have my own website (Please advise)?

I dont know why these site cause a big damage for the seller on their website by taking a sever actions by suspending accounts after you established a business and have 100% feedback even my customers keep sending me feel sorry of the stupid decision of those people controlling the other without thinking of how much damage they are doing.

I'm just sharing you my case and hope to hear from you helping me with a new ideas.

I'm start looking on OZtion but need to have a good website because I will really start to redirect my customers to the new place I will move to becausse they even unhappy with ebay.

I send ebay says you should have a satisfaction survey to hear from buyers and sellers how much they are suffering from your actions.

Finally I dont know how long ebay account suspension will take anyone have an idea?

I dont know how this people can get satisfied and happy with you to avoid there unexpected actions they are take against you, how you can keep them happy?

I'm really depressed because I lost a monthly well income and I dont have any alternative now.

Thanks

Wesa Aussie Seller
