QUESTION:

Until now, I have only had one seller ID. I've made a new one for a different product line. The question is, eBay will not let me use the same PayPal account with the same credit card info. So what do I do? Do I open up a second PayPal account with a different card?

I would check with them to clarify why they aren't allowing that first, because I know others that have the same cc linked to both accounts.

To much competition.

There are dozens of options and each one just takes a little of ebays market share, not enough to concern ebay, but enough to stop any competitor from mounting a serious challenge by taking enough market share.

We would be far better off if there was just one other player in the market.

I highly discourage this. My accounts were banned for doing this. Still haven't gotten them back and its been a week.

I find that very curious, are you sure that was the actual reason for your account's suspension?

You should be able to use one PayPal account on two eBay accounts. However, your eBay accounts should have two different User IDs and email addresses. It is important to note that they can never bid on each other's listing, be involved in the same auction or leave feedbacks for each other. This can result to suspension.

If you are unable to link your accounts, you may contact eBay for further instructions.

Hi xnarfx,

What reason/s did eBay give you for suspending your accounts?

Many powersellers have multiple accounts and eBay has always allowed this, provided you follow the norms. Having more than one eBay account gives you greater freedom and flexibility, for example:

*If you are buying items on eBay to resell, then a separate account is really handy. Otherwise your customers could potentially see where you got the item from and how much you paid for it!

*Also multiple accounts will allow you to focus on the different the niches that you have. You can even customize your account name to reflect that of your niche or your website URL, which is a great marketing strategy.

*To protect your feedback. This is especially relevant if you are selling a product that is more likely to attract negatives, such as electronics.

*To be able to open multiple eBay stores. You can only have one store per eBay ID.

These are just a few advantages when you have multiple eBay accounts. The main disadvantage is when one of your accounts get into any trouble, all your accounts will be automatically suspended. So something must have happened to one of your accounts for both to be suspended by eBay.

If you still haven't heard from eBay, here's an article that might help you find a way around your suspension:

As for creating two eBay accounts though the same PayPal account, you must first set up a new e-mail address and add that under the my account link through PayPal. As previously said, each account needs both a seperate e-mail and different name.

Yes but different name meaning different eBay name not personal name right.

Unless there has been a recent change in policies, multiple ebay accounts on one Paypal account is allowed. Just remember, that a flubbed account will effect all eBay accounts as Paypal may tighten the screws to your name and not just the eBay account, if you screw it up.

Some sellers are going so far as to open more than one Paypal account with different info. Then open two account to each Paypal account. This leverages selling power and keeps their eBay business from failing completely if one eBay account gets bombed.
