Hi all

I have a bit of a potential major problem, my paypal account got suspended about three days ago and they asked to receive documentation on tranactions for about 5 items.

I basically sell concert tickets on ebay, i buy from sites such as ticketmaster, seetickets etc

These 5 buyers had paid me money for tickets, nothing unusual, however, i had to send paypal confirmation that i had purchased and had control of these items. So i faxed all the relevant emails this morning confirming that i had purchased these tickets and that i had the stock to sell.

All being well my paypal account should be reactiviated soon as i have done nothing illegal and am not ripping people off i.e. them giving me money and me doing a runner!!!

However, when i got home today i have discovered that ebay have now suspended my account claiming that they want further information on me. I have got to send them the following before they will review my account:-

* copy of passport
* copy of bank statement confirming address
* receipt, invoice etc to show items listed on ebay are in my possession
* agreement with suppliers

Now the top two are cool and pretty easy to sort.

A receipt of every ticket i have sold is the part i am very worried about. I have printed off around 20 emails confirming purchase of these tickets so i should be okay on that one. What does concern me though is the agreement from suppliers to sell, of course ticketmaster and seetickets state that no tickets should be resold under any circumstances - so if they get in touch with them i could have my tickets cancelled and thus meaning my buyers dont receive them and thus meaning i have lost a hell of alot of money!! I dont think ebay will do this though as they promote ticket resales but it is a possibility? What do you think?

I also dropship and when my account got suspended i had 3 PS3 consoles up for sale, so i have printed off an email confirming that i can dropship from them. Do you think these details are enough?

Has anyone else had any previous experiences like mine? Any advice would be grateful.....

thanks in advance as ever.....

This may be a silly question but are you sure your accounts are suspended? We get emails every day saying our ebay/paypal account has been suspended and they need information. They are always scammers looking for our information. If you've actually logged into your accounts and they show suspended then never mind, its probably legit.

I have to agree with Direct_Consumer.

Why in the heck would ebay ask for this information?
* copy of passport
* copy of bank statement confirming address
* receipt, invoice etc to show items listed on ebay are in my possession
* agreement with suppliers

This does sound very fishy. Make sure you double check by manually logging into your account. And checking your messages inbox folder.. If this came by email is very possibly a fake email intended to get personal information. With that information in hand it could be easily used for identity theft.

I would call ebay to get this straightened out. Do not just submit things via email because of all the email spoofing.

Hello there I have had a similar problem, I had an auction for 10 PS3s, someone with only a few feedback won the auction, but he never paid me instead he left me negative feedback saying I'm a fraudster, but it gets better he then sent ebay a non delivery complaint, this was done all within an hour. Next thing I know ebay had suspended my account?

I have contacted ebay several times about this but they are asking me for proof that I sent the items? I'm puzzled I explained to ebay that on the auction it says delivery will take up to 5 working days, and that the buyer filed a non delivery report the same day and that he never paid me. If ebay had looked into my case at all they would see all this information.

Its beyond a joke that a decent ebayer can be treated like this obviously the idiot who never paid me is a competitor. I think ebay customer service is a shambles. And ebay does requires you to send id once suspended I done all this and explained my case but its still ongoing! Its an absolute disgrace!!

Regards

With a situation with this its best to contact ebay on the phone or even better yet contact thier live 24 hour support. This way you can communicate with a ebay staffmember live.

If this is the case you should either talk to a support member over the phone. Or even thier 24hour support comms. This is a situation where just emails wont work. They always blow you off with pre written crap emails.

I tried using emails to communicate with them and I got over 11 pre written responses..

Finally I basically cussed them out for the pre written messages. And asked to be able to get a response from a living organism. I then finally got a response from a actuall person that could actually type a real response.

This problem is not unusual. I was asked for the same information. I am a dropshipper so it is hard to get the proof of purchase. This is my one source of income and eBay just stopped it like turning off a tap.

If you are using a dropshipping service it can be very hard indeed to get proof. If you have already sold a few items you can use the confermation emails as some form of proof of where you purchase your items.

Be aware of fraud! EBAY and PAYPAL never ask personal info!It is very easy to check if this messages from PAYPAL - log in to your account and check your messages. If you don't see them there - you know that thay are not from PayPal.

I do know it has become an offence to resell tickets in qld Au. and then since it being illegal they could suspend it. But i have never heard of asking for your bank details, etc. I know of tickets being cancelled due to people reselling tickets online, as it does come up with a warning when you load them up on auction and also warns potential buyers. depending where you are, you should be able to look up their policies on resale of tickets. but i have been to bounced of ebay numerous times, it seems when you have competition out there, there becomes some nasty tricks unfortunately out there. Its the people that do the right thing get burnt. i wish you all the best, hope you work it out. If you do suspect its fraud and that you want to check it out more, go to paypal and email them with a copy and paste of any valid informayion you may have, ans ask if they have required this information from you and if so why. As under the privacy act here they even have strict guide lines to uphold. thats why you even have to fill out forms and show phot id to get your own information concerning yourself, even then its one big pain in the Butt. all the best

I am currently going through the same process. It is definitely Ebay asking for all of this personal info as the message is from the Trust & Safety team and is in my messages So what do you do you cant ignore it because you cant use your account.
I had a buyer who was a real nasty piece of work.Decided he didnt like the shoes that I had sent him and wouldnt send them back for a refund.No instead he has reported me to everyone except the Federal police I think. Paypal is reviewing his complaint and Ebay has to check my authenticity.
I also use dropshippers to supply goods to people and All I have done is supply the details of the dropshippers to them.I have also offered to tell them tracking numbers of the goods that I am supplying. I am hoping that every thing goes Ok.I had to supply the info by fax not by email.
I have done so this afternoon, They say that it takes from three to five days for them to review everything.Heres hoping that by this time next week I am back in action.

I think it's a total bluff. Talk to eBay's 24 hour support about it and make sure it's ligit.

I think they have asked for your bank account statement to verify your address, just send them a regular bill that has your address instead of your bank account statement

Im sure if they can verify your info and you can prove your just a honest person trying to make a living they will work with you to resolve this situation. They dont want to loose honest sellers. But they have to be hardcore on sellers that are not. Just work through the situation and try not to loose your cool.

Folks, let this be a warning.

Stay away from Brand name products ENTIRELY, unless you have printed receipts for them.

For now its a good idea to just stay away from Brands. Until the crack-down dies down, there is no sense selling brands. Sell Non Brands or other items instead.

There will always be jerks or nasty people who slip in through the cracks, report you to VERO or something else.

For the time being it appears they swarmed the whole area. So if you do sell something, stay away from Brand items is my advice for now.
