How to Apply a Merchant Account for an Online Store

hello
i am using prestashop for my online business. I installed the authorize.net module and went through the process creating account with them. I ended up being denied from the third party merchant company they use because of my "website mechanism".
I applied using (personal bank account )
I have done some changes to the site (added SSL - registered a business and will open a business bank account) will this help.
is there any other way to get a merchant account to get it setup with authorize.net? or what is the best way of accepting CC directly without paypal?

That's one I have no experience with, my only suggestion would be to speak directly with authorize.net to sort that one out
