I really hate bashing on, however over the past few months ebay has implemented various new policies such as:
Sellers not being able to leave Negative Feedback
Reduced Listing Fees in Feb, but FVF are going up
Now if your selling HIGH Risk items, Paypal will 'hold' the payment for 21 days before the seller can get it!

I understand, there are alot of scammers out there, however I feel strongly about how unfair it is, and ebay just don't seem to care anymore, as long as they are making $$$$$ - mind you, if I was int heir shoes, I'd do the same

        Why is ebay doing this?

Ebay is greedy, that's all there is to it. I found it funny how positive they tried to make the new changes sound...Lower listing fees...free gallery. Yeah thats great, but when you raise the fvf almost 2% it defeats the purpose.

If ebay is doing this to try to get rid of scammers, this is the worst way possible, it's just going to increase. Not being able to leave neg feedback for a buyer?! How stupid! So now I could go on ebay bid something sky high...email the seller, saying I better get it at this price or Ill leave neg feedback. And what protection does the seller have from this now...NOTHING!!!

Paypal possibly holding my money now...wow! Luckily I think I fall within their criteria of not having my money held, but how long will that last. It's like them saying...hey, thanks for making our business a sucess, but you're not going to get the money you earned just yet.

I wrote a post on this a few days ago, I got word of an ebay strike. This will only work if we get a lot of people involved. If you know someone who does the ebay thing...let them know.

EBAY STRIKE Feb 18th - 25th, don't list, sell, or buy

Complaining in forums is going to do nothing at all. If you want to get eBay's full attention cancel your account, stop buying and selling there, and email them and let them know why. What goes up must come down and ladies and gentlemen I think that is where eBay is headed.

wholesalelist101 - I DID THAT 2 WEEKS AGO! I told them to shove the account up their a**s.

I have been 'playing' on Craigslist and other free classified sites and I am probably making the same $$ profit, so to me the time is worth while.

I personally think, after notcing all the lunatics that joined ebay in Nov and Dec 07, that ebay will have to do something dramatic to get sellers back in the future.

Grahamg, that is great news! I will be saying good bye to eBay as well as soon as my remaining items sell. They have done nothing but pissed off all of there loyal members. The ones who made them what they are today. What a way to treat the ones that got you to the top. I hope they go bankrupt and loose everything they got!

I hope they go bust too, but the chances of that are slim!

My mate has just had his account suspended because he got 2 neutral feedbacks and he had only been on ebay for 3 weeks, with a feedback of 49, eBay claim the seller was not working with the buyers.

The buyers tried to scam him, by getting the product and blackmailing him into giving a refund, which he did then they left neutral feedack.

If that was me, I'd get their address from Paypal and have something SERIOUS happen to them...

I just cancelled my account with eBay, Fee Bay, or Greed Bay! I am so glad because now I can focus on products I WANT to sell instead of products they allow you to sell! No more worrying about account suspensions, PayPal freezing accounts, FVF, listing fees, yada yada yada. FREEDOM, it's a wonderful thing!

Selling on Ebay cab be very profitable depending on the product and how you market it.
I sell a product that is not in high competition and I sell it at a higher price than my competition, It's all in how you list the item and where you list it. In my listings I state that I sell at a higher price and why. I have a low rating and still make sales.
I am not going to stay on Ebay for long but it's a great place to 'test market' products, the extra cost I consider worth it in order to test the market for my items.
Also Ebay is a great place to purchase advertising for your own commerce website. It's cheap and a decent way to get some traffic.

It's not all bad on ebay, there is some money to be made there.
