Hi, Just a quick question....

Can u have multiple names on ebay
Its just that i was browsing through ebay today looking what people have for
sale etc....Came across one person selling a Nice Shirt..Looked at his feedback
which he only had 1 for Selling and 5 for buying...The 5 that he bought were for the shirts he is now selling on ebay..Bought for $16.95 selling for $200.00...Scrolled down to look at others that were similar...came across two more people selling similar shirts....Funny thing is the names are very similar also the first 5 letters are the same with different endings to them..They are all from the same state and country and all have registered on ebay on the same day...Coincidence?..Maybe...Probably not.....So just wondering does ebay allow multiple accounts?....thanks

Yes ebay allows as many accounts as you want, all you have to have is a different email address for each account, all the rest of your info and credit card info can be the same..

Alot of serious ebayers use multiple accounts..I myself have accounts that I use strictly for buying and others strictly for selling. Some sellers have dozens of accounts....

yes, but if you get a couple of awkward customers and they all complain (you only need 3) ALL your accounts are suspended

Hi grahamg,
thanks for your advice also, I ve only had on negative in the last 9 months and that buyer gave me an neg because she had to get her dress altered..should have looked at all her negative feedbacks before selling to her..shes no longer a registered user..Another question i have also about ebay (starting to detest them)..I sell designer clothing(authentic not fakes).just sell for a hobby.so dont buy that much..Anyway ebay always restricts me on how many items i can list within a 7 days period..ok thats fine with me..but the biggest problem i have is to make sure that i dont have to revise anything on my listings as ebay restricts that also....The other day i listed my items only to realise i had a typo error in the size...tried to revise but ebay sends this same message about how many listings i can have in a 7 days period..Went to live help and they said sorry we can not click a switch and just let you revise your item due to the fact you have restrictions on the number you can list...(I am not listing anymore) just want to revise..Answer...You must contact the ebays Safe Trading etc etc etc...and ask to get your account unrestricted...All this to revise a size...How ridiculous. So i did that
only to receive the same message over again....Sollution from Ebay
Cancel your Listing..Problem for me...Cant relist it for another 7 days...(all over a typo error)...Asked what if someone bids on my item with the typo error..Answer from Ebay...Well that could be a problem for you.....AHHHHHHH... (pulling my hair out)

Why is your account restricted. Is it because of low feedback?

when you say shes no longer registered - she COULD have closed her account, it doesn't automatically mean ebay canned her.

I tried selling designer goods in the UK, but jealous sellers claimed they were fake....that was strange as I got them from the UK distributor for Lacoste, Ellesse, Diesel and Replay!

It was too much hassle in the end

Yes it is difficult....
so far i have had no problems..all excellent feedbacks...Extremely difficult to compete against the fakes..Why ebay retstricted me and dont restrict the sellers that are actually selling fakes...but they are powersellers most of them..And ebay loves Powersellers

Hey grahamg, I had the same problem when I was selling designer shirts and handbags. It's just a tactic that unethical sellers use to help cut down on their competition..as all they have to do is hit the 'report' button located at the bottom of every listing and ebay will normally just pull it without checking...According to an actual ebay employee that I talked with about the problem stated that ebay depends 'heavily' on it's members to 'police' the community by reporting fakes...What is actually suppose to be policy is that if a item is reported a member of the ebay crew is suppose to take a look at that auction and then based on what they see, make a decision as wether to pull the listing or not..If a report is made by a vero then the auction is pulled 'no questions asked'..However they said that most of the time if a member reports an item they just usually pull it and move on to the next..

That being said, I overcame the problem by sending a physical package notifying ebay of my 'intent to sell' under 'first right of sell', designer goods and sent copies of the invoices of purchase from legitimate suppliers plus copies of the tags and phone numbers of the suppliers. I also put a short notice on my listing that I would take legal action against anyone who fraudlently messed with my auctions....that pretty much solved my problem...

I cant say that that will work for everyone, but it helped me..

No, basically if anyone reports someone in the UK its pulled - PERIOD!

I've had many 20 minute telephone calls over this even as a Powerseller - they did this I even pointed out who was doing it and they told me that absuing the report button was against their TOS - and action will be taken against ME if I did it! Figure that one..... :x :x

I decided in the end not to sell the deisgner goods, as it was a mate who supplied them to me (UK Brand Manager!) and I got them on sale or return. :D

I then decied to sell ebooks, no shipping and no stocking problems.
