Since you have a great handmade product even though this product can be a very exciting item its still a new product to the market and at first you may want to start out with a 5 day auction so you can get as many people to see your item as possible. 5 day auction-start WED-SUN I would say start it in the afternoon so you can have it end as late as possible SUN. As you make a few sales this way you probably can start them with 3 day auctions and then at fixed prices. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply,
I have several hand made products do you think i should list them all in time differences of half an hour each ?

or list them all to end at the same time?

Thank you in advanced

If the product is new the most important thing is gaining market exposure, and I would suggest the longer your auction runs the better.

You can of course use a buy it now option if you are worried that people won't wait till your auctions end, but if the product is unique then I can't see waiting be an issue for buyers.

As far as finishing times, my suggestion is picking the most likely time that the whole family is at home together, and market research points to this being Sunday afternoon/evening, so I would suggest a finishing time of between 5pm and 7.30pm.

I think it's smart to finish before television prime time starts in case your potential buyers get to comfortable in front of the box and forget your auctions closing time.

Listing options, I would finish them all close together, but not the same time. Space them 5 minutes apart to give an individual the opportunity to bid on more than one if they so wish, it can only increase your chances off a sale.

Whatever your time zone is, just try and stay clear of ending listings between 6 and 7pm, as that is the most popular time for dinner. I would suggest 30 minutes either side as a pretty good strike zone.
