Is anyone seeing any success selling on Facebook? ie. actually selling on Facebook as opposed to promoting eBay auctions or your website on Facebook? Found this fascinating little script for FB pages that converts the page into a small e-commerce website that functions right within FB --

I don't use Facebook for work stuff myself, but I do find this idea pretty interesting. It has become home-away-from-home for so many millions of people and has remained largely unmonetised from the user end. Might be worth looking into if you're already using Facebook to promote. Would love to hear from someone who's tried it.

Wasn't aware of it myself, but it sounds like something I'll be taking a much closer look at now, thanks for the link Frank

Yes, thanks for the link Frank! Seems very interesting. But when I tried download and installing it, it just took too long I waited for over 30 minutes and the Facebook was just blank :(

I know of a few friends selling on Facebook and they are doing quite well. Most of them are just using the typical (unsafe) payment methods bank transfers and wire transfers though

Personally, having no fees makes, Facebook a great venue for selling!

Thanks shonargon! I thought it was my internet connection that hindered me from finishing the download.

Cheers :)

Glad you guys like it, and hope to hear from someone who implements it sometime. I have a few Twitter feeds that are very niche-focused in the products that they promote, and they are doing pretty well. I've been working on a "deal a day" app for the iPhone that is similar to Woot.com's concept but, again, focused on a very specific niche where there are lunatic-level obsessed buyers and I have a decent product source (Brio/Learning Curve wooden train products.) Getting away from the eBay model and beating paths along alternate routes has been a big project of mine for the last couple of years, and I'm always looking at new ways to get products in front of buyers. The Payvment implementation for Facebook seems so nearly seamless that it would be a really good solution, if it works as advertised.
