I am considering starting my own website. There are so many hosting companies out there with so many different plans. Its getting a little confusing. Anyone have suggestions on the best host to use? Which is the easiest with the best value?

Godaddy.com is always a good place to start, but have you considered an option line Bonanzle.com?

It might be a good place for you to start and then build your own around that if you need to.

Certainly a cheaper option for you.

Just wondering is this forum also for Australian Seller as well or mainly for US sellers n buyers. Can we as Australian sellers selling stuffs through bonanzle.com???

Certainly can, however I think it's fair to say that it would have more US buyers currently than anything, but the site is growing rapidly, and I see more and more Aussie sellers arriving all the time.

If you are just starting out I think it would be a great platform to start with, free listings and crazy cheap fees on items that sell.

hostgator is a better host. Their servers are hardly ever down.

I highly recommend Yahoo! Web hosting just because it has starter merchant stores and is very affordable. The site is easy to set up with a wizard that requires no knowledge of HTML. All you do is choose store design and upload photos, descriptions, etc. for products. Easily integrateable with PayPal. You will be up an running in no time! Not to mention they have unlimited storage and bandwith, big plus.

Godaddy is a very good hosting company. One of the largest and cheapest companies with many different services. They are also very reliable as far as hardly any downtime.

Where are you located? I found that it was easier to find a cheap hosting company in my country. I started my own site using Webwidgets (Since I'm in New Zealand). Although I will agree that GoDaddy was also a site I was considering.
Also do you want a web hosting program that will give you an ecommerce site or just a host?

I'd like to humbly add a link to Link hidden: Login to view thread I started in May. I'm now running inFocus on two sites, and very much like the way it is working for me.

I've pretty good at creating websites (don't ask me to) which gives me the option of looking for the best hosting companies. But... hosting company is only the start - you would find yourself doing a lot of work before you would have your own website to sell your stuff there. It would take you long hours and critical mistakes along the way, on the other hand investing few bucks on a service that would be a one-stop-shop for you should be better - believe me :) Having that said, I would suggest - just go to yahoo - they have great service for merchants, in few minutes you could have your site up and running.
