I would like to know how legit is AFD supplier. They are listed on SaleHoo and sell high end art, furnishing and decor products. I looked at their website but many of their listings show current stock listing of 0 and noting shipment expected in 6 weeks. It's obvious that they are importing their wares from overseas and although they list a phone number on their contact page, there is no listing of a physical business-warehouse address. Is this a safe, legit company to do business with or only an online middleman business? And do they actually restock all the many 0 current stock inventory of the products they display?

I also noticed that they charge a 10% drop shippers fee. I realize they sell high end ticket merchandise but seems a bit much to me for a drop shipping charge. What's your opinion on such a large amount to charge for drop shipping since I would also be remitting them the shipping charges for any merchandise I resell.

It does seem a little high on the face of it, but it comes down to the end price. If you can sell the product and make margin, then it doesn't really matter what their charges are, all that is important is the price that you are able to sell it for at the retail end.

In regards to the feedback, the most concerning is the claim of the fake products being sold, that's the one that worries me. Problem is, that's just one opinion, but certainly enough to look into a lot deeper I would suggest.

I'll make sure support is made aware of this claim and get them to drill down on it in more detail so we can clarify.

Hi there,

SaleHoo support has not received complaints from this company, especially concerning their order fulfillment. As Mark mentioned the authenticity complaint (found on Yelp) is definitely worth looking into. We have contacted them directly and forwarded the review to get some feedback/ comments from them.

Their warehouse location is listed on their SaleHoo profile page and on their website as well: Link hidden: Login to view

We'll get in touch asap when we receive their feedback.

Did you ever receive further information regarding my inquiry about Art Frame Direct? Did you ever receive any feedback from them to clear up the complaint against them about selling bogus artwork and furnishings?

Hi Curtis,

Yes, we do have follow up information from the supplier. I'll have Shane post that statement here for everyone to read.

Here's a direct statement from Art Frame Direct:

-----------------------

For over 25 years AFD home has been an importer and wholesaler of fine furnishings and décor from around the world. We have established offices overseas that assist us in procuring new products and treasures from the farthest corners of the globe. Sometimes, not all the products we are able to obtain are in stock. Frankly with a current product listing that includes over 8000 sku's it shouldn't be surprising that some items would be out of stock or require special ordering to obtain. Each individual business should decide for themselves whether or not our drop shipping service is for them. Any of the fees associated with drop shipping are a result of the necessary work that we must do on behalf of the drop shipper to execute and fulfill the order from the processing to the packing and shipping. Anyone who isn't charging a drop ship fee is just adding it into their prices. At the end of the day, if a drop shipper can't make money on the item they shouldn't post the item. The product AFD Home offers is always of a high quality and is fulfilled according to the type of product being ordered. Anyone considering drop shipping with AFD should first fill out the account application. During this application process they will receive personal communication regarding their questions and allow AFD Home to get to know the potential client better to decide whether or not to proceed in allowing them to drop ship our items.

The person who is concerned should go onto the AFD website and shop art to feel comfortable with it. None of the art AFD sells is based on who the artist is. AFD only sells hand painted oil on canvas that is guaranteed to be done by hand without mechanical assistance. The yelp commenter was telling a story told to them by a friend who bought their product from a designer who got somethings from AFD. Trying to hold AFD accountable for the misrepresentation of third party sellers in their attempt to turn a profit is quite the reach. Whomever this designer was that this person's friend worked with is the real reason for this yelp review and it's just sad that years after responding and receiving no satisfaction from Yelp misleading information like this is still out there to be found.
