Can anybody tell me if this service is free?
And are wire transfers safe to use with DHgate?

Hi DHenderson,

Escrow.com is a safe third party option that holds money in a ?trust? account until the buyer receives the goods. Once goods have been cleared by the buyer the money is released to the seller. Note that you should only use Escrow.com and no other services advertising as 'escrow'.

There seems to be a fee when using this service. Here's the link to their fee calculator:

Without or without escrow, I would still not recommend that you use wire transfer as a method of payment. Generally, it is still not considered a safe way of paying for your orders.

Hope this helps. Cheers :)

Hi again DHenderson,

Escrow itself is considered a safe payment method. But wire transfers are not.

Cheers:)

A lttle off topic, but I give you fair warning about DhGate. Their merchandise is not legit, and it is illegal as well as unethical to sell knockoffs. They do carry some unbranded items which are ok to sell, but do you really want to do business with a company that sells knockoffs and sees nothing wrong with that? Think about it.

Thanks for the info, I personally would not deal in knock off products, but i do however see some potential in 'SOME' of their unbranded electronics,as here in NZ i feel they maybe a good product to offer to those who just cant afford to buy the big brands that seem to dominate our market. But again thanks for your comment and i will deal carefully with the odd DHgate supplier

China offers some of the lowest priced unbranded electronics which also appeal to some people specifically those who cannot afford buying branded ones or just don't care about the brands as long as the quality is good.

It is also a good idea to have a variety of products to offer to your customers. You can have both branded and unbranded in your store and sell to anyone-to those who are willing to pay more and those who are not.

All the best,
