I just ordered a package from one of DH Gate seller. Hope everything will go smoothly as I predicted (fingers crossing at the moment). It wont be long to check out whether my supplier is a scam or not. A great start will definitely kick off my year 2009.

Yeah, I know most of items from China are not authentic. However, I do not sell electrical appliances nor mobile phones / ipods. I just purchased other household items only. Well I am still waiting for 1st package to arrive. Hopefully it will be one day next week.

I ordered a wedding gown from them . Biggest mistake of my life. I will never do business with them again. They do not issue refunds if there is a problem. As I used Paypal they said for me to get my money back from them. I wish you luck with your dealings. China does things their way and there is nothing that can be done about it.

By the way, just got a tracking number and I was checking my package. Uhm, it was released by AUS custom so may be it will arrive on Monday or Tuesday.

I did some transactions before and they are not authentic for sure! But for me, they were ok when it comes for refunds. (Maybe I got luck) I think it depends on the seller that you are dealing with...

My advice is try not to buy electronics or copy stuff from them and if you are ordering large amount of things from them, tell them to send it in different packages so customs don’t bother you… it has happened to me.

Good luck!

I will order LCD projector soon and it is free shipping according to seller and will be sent through DHL....this is my question, will DHL not let me pay anything before I get my package?
Second, I hope that even most China sellers are scammers, hoping the seller of the item I am planning to buy is not. He is a powerseller...Does it guarantee good seller?

I dont know so much about custom. Would you mind to clarify it a bit more for me? I ordered 1 single package. However, I want to continue order 3 packages (if the 1st one is good). Does it matter to the custom? As I read Aus custom, I dont have to declare everything if the package is below 1000. I can classify the package is for personal use only.

Did u read through his comments keep asking him/her questions (more pics for the package and stuffs)? Dont worry about free shipping or not, cause the shipping fee is already included in your purchase as well.

With the current crisis in economic and bad exchange rate, It is hard to find a truly genuine supplier in US. The same thing applies for UK as well.

I don't really know about AUS customs but you should be ok when ordering less than $1000 each package in different days.

All I know is that one day I start ordering form them more and more and customs stopped the merchandise because the Chinese guy always sent everything in a big box and he did not declare anything, not even like a gifts ... so I lost everything because of the guy .... He could it be sent 2 boxes saying that they were gifts and I am sure it wouldn't be a problem. I lost the last $3000 I had for that time.

My advice is try not to order from dhgate or places like that one I know is hard to find suppliers in AUS or US but you can still find suppliers ...

BEST REGARDS,

Ivan R.

Well I just received the package from dhgate. Everything is good, however it is not DVD quality (not as sharp and clear as it should be). One thing I knew for sure I can not sell this package (fake 100%; despite the fact I already knew it would be fake but I did not think that the quality is too bad). So I think I gonna keep this package for myself. Well one experience from DHGate (not really a big amount of money this time).

I kept researching on selling DVD movies and TV shows. I found another supplier from US; the price is suitable to make a small margin 10% to 15% the invested money. However, the supplier informed me that DVDs are all foreign manufactured and they are licensed and legal to resell it to me. However, I dont know is it legal to sell DVDs foreign manufactured or should I consider their DVDs are pirated. Any advice on this issue?

DHgate is quite 'dangerous'. You must only buy from them if the items are of your own use. The site sells majority fake items. Not suitable for international shipping if you want to make bussinss....

I agree with you about DH Gate. We should not recommend Dh gate to any one who wants to be part of resale business.

DH Gate is nothing more than a supplier sourcing site, just like the others such as Alibaba, Tradekey and so on. They are designed to link buyers with sellers, nothing more, nothing less.

When you do business on any of these types of sites you are doing business with independent suppliers, not with the site owner.

It is upon you to research the business within the site that you are interested in doing business with, not just assuming that they are fine because they are listed on DH Gate, or any of the others.

Most issues arise from people trying to buy genuine branded items from suppliers positioned on these types of sites, finding that the products ordered fall short of buyers expectations.

You can buy some really cheap and rubbish copies in China, you can also buy some top quality copies in China, but what you can't do is buy a genuine brand name product direct from a Chinese manufacturer!

9 out of 10 times the buyers create the problems for themselves with this unrealistic expectation that China is the source for cheap branded products. Yes, most everything is made in China these days, but it is made under licence for resale through the copyright owners own distribution channels, not those of the manufacturer themselves.

Doesn't it stand to reason that if the actual manufacturer was selling the branded products that they were manufacturing for some company, that they would be able to under cut the companies own prices and put them out of business over night?

If you want to buy unbranded items, then sites like DH Gate can be a valuable resource when you carry out effective research, but if you looking to buy branded items from these types of sites then you need to take a serious reality check because you are only kidding yourself!
