Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here dealt with 'Pthen', a Salehoo member? He claims he's a wholesaler of Apple Iphones and Blackberries. I contacted him and his prices are very good. I am just worried about them being Fake. Can you please share your experience and your thaughts? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Hi hottielili,

PThen is not a registered forum seller - therefore we cannot verify the authenticity of his products (iPhone). Although I am not sure if any of our members have tried buying from him in the past but he should not be selling on the forum or to our members until he has registered as a seller.

We are not saying that his products are not real but we hope you understand that we are just trying to make sure that all our members will have a safe buying experience.

Till he has registered as a forum seller, I would advice you refrain from buying from him. (No offense meant to PThen)

Cheers!

I tried registering but was rejected because I didn't have a website and Salehoo says that I'm just a seller and not an established company. But since Hottielili contacted me out of her own initiative, I will work on sending her a free sample. Website will come up soon.

@PThen: Thanks for your quick reply PThen.

I'm not sure about how your application went as we are not the ones who review seller applications. I'll try to check for you.

We try not to meddle in our members business transactions but we just want to make sure that everyone is given a safe buying opportunity.

@hottielili: Please let us know how your transaction goes. An update is much appreciated.

All the best to you both. Cheers!

Creepy, I would say..I guess it would be best to move along and search for another more suitable supplier..

Apple is still the best source for iPhone, expensive but you are guaranteed authenticity all the way.

Cheers :)

this is why salehoo is sh**

it should only be registered ppl on these forums, and if they are selling, should have official papers for salehoo to deal with.

salehoo, is exactly that sale...who?? no offense to richelle, but i have no faith in the owner or whoever is running this salehoo show.

@xjock: PThen did apply to become a Registered Forum seller on SaleHoo, however his application was declined as he wasn't able to provide enough evidence to satisfy us that his business and products were legitimate.

I'm not sure how the member who started this thread was contacted, by possibly by private message. Although we warn all members to only deal with registered suppliers, unfortunately we can't monitor all private message activity and sometimes members do promote products without permission via private message.

As you can see, we clarified PThen's status on Salehoo as soon as this thread was started, so the member who was asking the question was immediately warned.

I'm sorry if you don't feel that is enough, but in this situation, I feel that there has been plenty of warning to members about this member and that Salehoo has done everything we can to ensure the safety of our members

If we see anyone selling on the forum without filling in a supplier application first, and being approved, we delete their post as soon as possible.

Hope this clarifies everything for you and the rest of our community.

Cheers!

xjock, if you have a legitimate complaint then by all means air it, however speaking from complete ignorance doesn't do you much credit at all.

Richelle has explained the procedure for sellers, so we do have set rules in place, despite your nonsense claim that we allow anyway to sell on the forum.

Apart from that, I personally know that the member that was interested in buying the product from Pthen was in fact contacted by Pthen by PM.

Although Pthen was at the time having his position as an authorised seller here on Salehoo processed, the member was warned by myself not to do any business with him until he was authorised.

More to the point, I also indicated to the member that it was against policy for unauthorised sellers to promote their products via PM.

Once Pthen has his claim rejected, this member, knowing all the facts and having our best advice, decided that she would keep communication open and try this supplier.

Your comments are more than welcome on the forum, however I suggest you keep them clean, and you learn a little about what you are commenting on before you decide to post again for everyone's sake.

i meant that salehoo members be more guarded, i didnt elaborate enough in my previous post, yes I made it seem like I was ignorant.

I just get angry at those posts i read where ppl get scammed and are salehoo members, thats what I was venting about, I feel it responsible to guard other salehoo members who do fall for other members fake offers.

More tighter rules, any form of offerings by anyone, should be an instant ban and the only way to get back on the forums, is to be screened by salehoo staff.

i believe these same sellers, should approach thru salehoo staff STRICTLY, and for Salehoo staff to confirm and verify these offers by other forum members.

So it gets "filtered"

Yes i do know that you make efforts into doing write ups of warnings and educating sellers, it is very clear.

I suggest compulsary buying/selling education for members, or emails reminders, stories good and bad, yes i know thats what the forum is for, but how there is too much to sift thru vs time.

I hope you can build on this fudjj & Richelle.

Thanks xjock :)

As much as it may seem ideal to block a potential scammer off SaleHoo, we can't and it would be totally unfair for those who are not familiar with our forum rules/policies - that is why an initial warning to issued along with deleting the post. But yes, we do ban members who do not adhere to the rules and when we see it appropriate. So please be assured that SaleHoo and its staff are doing everything we possibly can to ensure a safe buying experience for our members (on and off SaleHoo).

We have recently released our official Forum Rules, please have a read for your reference:
