Hi All,

Great website by the way. I am a new starter to SaleHoo and eBay alike. I just got my first powerseller status and decided to try and obtain goods in China, Hong Kong and USA.

Well, I saw on one of the forums to try DHgate but that was a mistake. I used one of their powersellers too obtain 5x electronic products. I asked the seller many times in fact, if the items were genuine and he stated they were. I paid for them and received the items 2 weeks later. The items are definitely not genuine. They are completely fake. I have reported this to DHgate but I have been told to wait 10 days to try and resolve with the seller. Fair enough. So, I will have to wait.

But I have been checking DHgate and nearly all products on that site are fake. How can DHgate condone all this fake selling, it's not only immoral but totally illegal. Apparently, DHgate hold the money until the buyer and seller are happy then they release the funds to the seller but I pray this doesn't happen. Can I ask if anyone else had issues like this? If so, what is the likelihood of getting my money back around $1000? :(

Everyone realize that buying from china most likely is fake,or at least unauthorized.Yes most designer lines are made in china due to low labor costs. Yes you may be buying the same identical product as sold in designer line from same factory. But you are selling that product without the right to. If the company should choose to do so, They could sue you for more money than you can make in three lifetimes. The vero program on e-bay is just the tip of the iceberg soon to come. Before long, vero will be all over the internet, not just e-bay. Just like the music industry did.I know some people that downloaded music from places like limewire, lots of it. Recieved letters 6 months later to pay 5.99 per song downloaded or be sued for up to 15.00 per song. Some owed thousands. If your selling fake designer goods, you better decide some other sales venue before long. Every computer has a unique log address that is traceable to you. That is how the limewire people got caught. I wouldnt want to get a registered letter 1 day from some attorney saying I sold 10K of unauthorized designer merchandise and they wanted their money for it, 2yrs down the road.
CHINA DOES NOT RECOGNIZE U.S. OR OTHER COPYRIGHT LAWS IN OTHER COUNTRIES. IT IS MUCH EASIER FOR THEM TO SUE YOU
FOR SELLING ILLEGAL GOODS IN THE US THAN GO AFTER THE CHINA SUPPLIER.THINK ABOUT IT.

I am now having issues with the seller of the fake goods, as DHGATE have paid the seller already, before i even acknowledged receipt of the goods. So now i am in deadlock with both DHGATE and the seller, to try and get my money back. Jesus. this is an absolute nightmare.
.
DONT KNOW WHY DHGATE IS EVEN MENTIONED ON THIS SITE, AS MOST OF THE ITEMS I HAVE DISCOVERED ARE FAKES.
.
AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

What you need to do now is to contact ebay and report the powerseller that you bought the goods from. I don't use ebay for anything anymore, I now sell on ebid.net i find them a lot better and easier than ebay. ebid.net was recommended to me by salehoo. The best thing i ever did. Good luck on getting your money back.

Thanks for the reply Ken,
But the powerseller isnt on Ebay, the powerseller is on DHGATE. I keep using Ebay terms. I have got 2 days left to be able to submit a dispute with them, so just waiting on them. I will have a look at ebid.net. Thanks Ken
