credit card payments are a secure way of payment.

ask you credit card issuer what amount you are insured too if anything goes wrong.

Thanks Paul. I'm not sure I understand... I assume the c.card is debited when I place my order... it can take many weeks (avg 3-4) for the goods to reach NZ. If the quality is bad, they send the wrong thing, they never arrive can I claim it back? Is that what you mean? Will the c.card company reverse the charge? Your help is appreciated. Cheers.

Hi SJ,

Yes, you can file a charge back on a credit card payment any time that you use your card without actually signing your name to the purchase.

No I'm unsure if providers all offer the same time period as to when a charge back has to be claimed by, but the standard time is around 2-3 months from what I have heard.

Contact your card provider to get full charge back details.

To be honest, using your credit card for purchases is about the best form of payment. While PayPal does offer some level of protection, it's not as much as the charge back system on a credit card.

Welcome to the site SparklesJax :)

Yup, fudjj is right about credit cards being the safest form of payment online. You are only covered by PayPal's buyer protection program when you are buying on eBay but outside of eBay you are pretty much on your own when you use PayPal. They simply become another third party provider, unless you link your PayPal account to your credit card, which allows you to override them and go directly to your credit card company to process your chargeback.

I also recommend keeping in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter for daily wholesale and eBay selling tips:
