Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has purchased anything from Onsele? They claim to sell authentic name brand electronics?

Hi chelsdaniel,

I haven't bought anything from them myself but I did check their website and found that:

1. Onsele.com is based in China.

If you're looking for name brand products, please refrain from using Chinese suppliers as it is too hard to establish the authenticity of the brand-name products that they offer. As you may have heard, the vast majority of brand-name goods that come from China are either replicas or fakes. We strongly recommend that you assume that this is the case in the first instance.

2. Their website was registered in August - of this year.

It is safest to deal with suppliers who have been online for at least 2 years. Why? There are many scam sites on the internet pretending to be reliable suppliers. These sites will either take your money and then never send the goods you paid for, or they will send very poor quality or fake merchandise. Most scammers disappear within a few months to a year once word of their reputation begins to spread.

3. They only accept PayPal and credit card payments from VIP members. If you're not a VIP member, you have to pay via Bank Transfer or Western Union.

Payment methods such as bank transfers, Western Union and wire transfers cannot be reversed if something goes wrong, so they are considered unsafe.

Hi chelsdaniel,

I agree with Satya. It would be best to just turn around and look for another supplier.

Here's something I found on another forum, please have a read:

By the way, what products are you interested in? We'd be glad to help you search for suitable suppliers.

Cheers :)

Hi chelsdaniel,

Did you use a safe payment method, like credit card or PayPal? If you did do a charge back. But if you paid using a wire/bank transfer I guess you'll just have to wait it out 'til you receive your orders. I do hope everything turns out well.

If you don't mind, maybe you can let us know your feedback when you receive your order. We'd love to hear about your experience.

For Apple products most of our senior members would suggest that you go directly to Apple themselves. But here are a few suppliers you can try for the products that you are interested in :

Hi chelsdaniel,

Here are some simple things you can do to protect yourself when dealing with any supplier (especially those found outside of SaleHoo).

1. Run a whois check on the supplier's website to verify when it was created (the site registration date must be at least 2 years old), who owns the domain, and where the domain was registered (the country should match the contact details on the supplier's website).

We recommend using Link hidden: Login to view
whois.ch?ip=salehoo.com&cache=off (replace salehoo.com with the url of the supplier).

2. Search the SaleHoo forum for the supplier's website/company name and see what other members have to say.

3. Call the supplier's telephone numbers to ensure they are genuine.

4. Purchase a sample before bulk ordering to ensure that the item meets your expectations.

5. Watch out for sellers asking you to 'safeguard' your purchase by sending your money transfer in the name of a friend or loved one, or by establishing a 'test question'. These actions will not protect you from a fraudulent seller.

6. Low prices do not necessarily mean fraud, but radically low prices should warrant a closer look. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Ask the seller as many questions about the item's authenticity as you can before you go any further. Request that they provide you with a proof of authenticity for their products, as most brand name items come with official paperwork for resale.

7. Always use a credit card or PayPal to purchase goods. These forms of payment are safe because they give you a comeback if something goes wrong. With these payment methods, you can usually have the transaction reversed fairly easily if necessary.

As for those orders you've already made, let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Cheers!

Hi all, please never ever deal with the following supplier

Link hidden: Login to view

They are a big scam! I stupidly paid via Western Union as they would not accept Paypal and basically they have sent me no products and will not respond to me at all.

Please spread the word about this scam!

If anyone has any ideas about where to report this to that would be great.

Also I am looking for suppliers of IPhones and Apple Mac's. There wasn't really much in the previous websites you gave me. Thanks though. Some supplier's of authentic Ed Hardy gear would alos be great. I am from Australia supplier's that will ship to Oz will be useful.

Thanks for all your help, although I feel like giving up now after being ripped off so badly!

Cheers

Chelsea

Hi Chelsea,

We also got scammed by onsele. Have not posted any goods and are claiming that customs have the goods and we need to pay another 280 euro to post them, or quote 'I think you dont want to see the result that give you a greater loss'
So back to the drawing board searching for a legit wholesaler any recommendations would be great.
We are in Australia, so preferably someone who ships here.

Cheers Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I'm sorry to hear that. If you read through this thread, you will find some excellent tips on how to verify your suppliers to protect yourself from getting scammed. If you click on the 'Education' tab in any SaleHoo Page, you will also find some great articles on this and on online selling in general.

If I may ask, what products are you interested in selling so that we can look for some great suppliers for you?

Take care and talk to you soon.

Hi peoples.

I know exactly what you're going through. We imported pool lights from China and it took us 12 months to find someone we could actually trust.

They have this convenient 'we not understand' when things go wrong and of course warranty out of China is non existent.

If you are serious (and there are big bucks to be made) establish someone on the ground over there, someone who will tell you like it is. There are more English/Aussies working in China than you think. It's worth the effort to find them, trust me.

Once we employed a English/Chinese Lady to work for us, cost us a trip to Australia for her mind you lol, everything got a whole lot easier.

Hi Amanda and Chelsea,

I'm sorry that you both had trouble with them, fortunately for me I haven't had anything to do with them. I've only just started dropshipping in Australia also. It's so difficult to find good suppliers down here isn't it?? I often find so much good stuff from the US, but then once the shipping costs are added there'd be no point selling it as pople wouldn't buy at those prices when they can get it cheaper!

Good luck to us all :)

Thanks Shane,
It is hard to find affordable wholesalers to Australia, shipping for some is so expensive, especially when you look on ebay and things are getting sold for $50 less than we can get them os for.
But will keep looking and learning as I go.
Getafix96 I looked for their website today when I read your comment good to see it's now gone just a shame I lost money through them!!!
Cheers everyone
Amanda

That's the spirit guys! Don't give up, I'm sure the supplier your looking for is just waiting to be found...

We'll try to search for additional Australian-based suppliers as well.

And if we can help you with anything do feel free to post it here on the forum or send us an email at Link hidden: Login to view

All the best to you all and cheers! =D
