Hi all...maybe someone can help me with this.

Eventually, I'd like to purchase directly from the stores themselves for their liquidated/return merchandise. How do I go about that? Do I just contact them by phone or in person? I did a little experiment and I contacted a manager of my local Target, but he said they have a contract with a company to buy their liquidated goods. Is this to be expected with all the stores?

What do you all think?

if you're planning on buy liquidated item from big store like target or bestbuy, you will have to have like 100K+. Most of these stores they sell large inventory - talking about thousands of items - so if you have the capital to cover their cost - you could sign contract with them!

You might what to try independent stores (smaller stores).

Hi avb, most large retail chains do tender, so they will have contracts with liquidators, Target mostly deal with Genco, but do supply other various liquidation companies.

If you want to start small I would suggest smaller independent stores, even local manufacturers. You may well be very surprised at what they have taking up space that they would prefer top convert into quick cash flow.
