Not sure if I should post this here or name them shame them... but here it goes.

There is an ebay seller, zakizaki99, that everyone should steer clear of. I should have known better, but I wanted what he was selling (chandelier earrings and necklaces). His feedback is private. He has a rating of 98.2%. I didn't think much of it at the time and bid on the lot. Then a few days later, while showing my husband the listing, something made me check out the whole 'private' thing. I saw that in the last month they've had 22 negative feedbacks. I went ahead and finished the auction, I won for about $20. I paid within an hour of auction end by paypal (thankfully). That was May 23. It's now June 3, I've sent him two emails since... One on May 30th and one again June 2nd. So far, he has not responded to either email. I gave him until Friday, June 9 to have my items to me, or I am filing with ebay and with paypal. This person is in New York... I'm in PA. Unless he strapped the package to a turtle's back, there is no reason why 11 days after the auction that I shouldn't have my package by now. The auction said to allow 7-15 days from auction end for package to arrive, depending on location. Friday June 9th will be 17 days past auction end.

Am I being unreasonable here, especially considering that they have been refusing to return my messages (all of which have been sent through the ebay system)? Am I being too impatient? or does this seem fishy to anyone else?

That sucks Jennifer! That's why I prefer paypal. they can't say they never got it... it's instant and you get a receipt.

Good luck getting it straightened out. :)

YOu wanna know what really sucks? I had a lot of 100 hard drives I sold on ebay. I had no guarantee on them or warranty, they were as is so I shipped them packaged very very well non insured via UPS. Well, come to find out that half my package magically dissappeared, even though I shipped it all in ONE box. So my client gets less than half the hard drives, in a different box than what I shipped it in, broken and dented. Now he thinks Im screwing him over, yadda yadda. So thanks to my pal UPS, I have to refund him $1250. Ups had a claim and it went through, for $171. So all this headache of a client wanting to sue my butt and me trying to get a loan from the family cuz I cant take that big of a hit right now, is all thanks to the peeps at UPS. The reason Im mad is cuz the only explaination for the incident is that half of the drives were stolen. How else could something shipped in one box arrive in another. Arrrg. Maybe this shoulda gone in the off topic...

That would really suck! That's not right at all. I know if I ship something, I expect it to arrive in the box I put it in...

It's pretty bad when you can't trust UPS not to steal

Yea, well, those 'private' feedbacks always scare me. What in the world do they have to hide, except for negatives! I'd always stay clear of those ebayers!!

Very sad. I don't know how they manage to stay on Ebay.

Don't ever send anything UPS even if it is insured because they will mess it up then take 2 months to give you some money because they want to 'check our system.'

Well, to go back to the first post here... I filed a complaint through ebay and paypal for the auction. Today was 21 days since the auction ended. The seller has till June 19 to respond or I automatically win. And according to the auction, he has buyer's protection, so I should get a refund of my money.

I'm wondering if I'm not the only one with a claim against the guy though. Paypal's first step for a dispute like this is to have the buyer and seller communicate. When I typed up the message to be sent through Paypal to the seller, it told me he was unavailable, and to provide any extra information to them that may be useful in deciding the case and asked me to upgrade the complaint to a claim. Now it's just a matter of waiting 6 more days to find out what's going on.

Update - Paypal gave me a full refund on 6-19-06. As of right now, the seller has not attempted to contact me, never contacted paypal, nothing. It's like the guy dropped off the face of the planet....
