Hi, i'm looking for a branded cosmetic and skin care from chanel, bobby brown, benefit etc etc. But im only looking for a wholesaler that can provide the lowest possible price. meaning i will need atleast $30.000 as a min order.
i went throught all the wholesale in the directory plus some from the thread and most of the wholesaler are quite expensive and my guess is because they are more tailor to no min buy and dropship?.

oh and please don't refer me to go to the brand. cause thats not an option from where i am.

Thanks.

Hi Koolwhip,

A wholesaler supplier won't be able to give you an accurate price until they actually know what sort of volume you want to purchase, since wholesale pricing usually works on volume buying. Most wholesalers will have a set structure in place, like pricing per unit type, but it actually varies per supplier. It's always best to talk with them for the prices, and let them know what your requirements are in regards to purchasing volume. :)

These cosmetics suppliers have some brand name products and they are filtered to those with no minimum order -

The first and 3rd wholesaler doesn't have anything im looking for and i contacted both 2nd and 5th wholesaler and it has a wholesale price thats expensive than buying retail from the actual brand online store. they did say that they would give me a discount if i order in big volume but the price is like 10-15% from already high price. 6th is mix in terms of price (some good, some bad) but not many selection for wholesale account. still waiting for a reply from 4th one.
so yes, i would need further help in searching for a wholesaler.

all of these wholesaler have no minimum order and also runs a retail online shop and from my experience, these places usually have high wholesale price.

A high min supplier is what im looking for because alot of times, they have the best price.

thanks

Koolwhip,

Are you sure you're understanding correctly? Most suppliers do not put their wholesale pricing on their website for the general public to see if they did everybody [retail customers:7dd6fe05] would want their items for that price.

Let's break down the distribution layers that most companies follow to give you a better example.

1. Manufacturer.--- The manufacturer are the people who make the product. You can buy from them, however, you are going to need a business license and a decent bank account and cash flow. [Truest form of wholesale prices:7dd6fe05]

2. Distributor/Wholesaler.----- They get the products from the manufacturer and break them down into wholesale orders, and some drop ship. They mark up the prices a small fraction from their cost from the manufacturer in order to make some profit. [Wholesale prices:7dd6fe05]

3. Drop shipper.---- They don't really deal in wholesale perse, they buy from the distributor/wholesaler in bulk and drop ship them for you. They mark up the prices a small fraction from their cost from the wholesaler in order to make some profit. [Psuedo-wholesale prices:7dd6fe05]

4. Your website/place of business.---- You set the prices, you may chose to do full MSRP, or slightly below MSRP. [Retail prices:7dd6fe05]

5. Customer.

Ultimately you're only going to get the true wholesale price directly from the manufacturer of a product, but they DO NOT work with a sole proprietor nor small company, they only are interested in supplying huge chains such as Walmart.

I've gone through the sites that Irene posted, some are listing RETAIL pricing NOT wholesale [I explained why in the begining of this reply:7dd6fe05]. Some are listing wholesale pricing, and the ones that are, are not expensive. I don't know what prices you're expecting from a wholesaler, but those are really decent prices an can allow you to have some decent profit margins.

There's no such thing as a 100%+ markup in profit margins in business, ever, if someone does they either manufacture the product themselves and sell it to retail customers only and thus making good legitimate money, or are the shady type who overcharges customers and thus deserves to go out of business.

Yes, I understand perfectly how the supply chain works and I know exactly how much I can expect to pay. Since there is such a thing as market price for everything and from where I am, online retail price are fiercely competitive so anything near msrp won't cut it.

And please don't assume that I don't know the difference between retail price and wholesale price, because I made wholesale account with most of the site Irene mentioned and I also got the wholesale price in XML file.
I don't know where your getting the 100% mark up but unfortunately, I wasn't aiming for that. I'll be lucky if i got 10% margin from those price and I know for a fact that others who import cosmetic are getting at least 50%..
And you mention about selling Msrp or near msrp. Really? Can you sell a product with full msrp in eBay? Now that I want to see.
You also talked about no business having 100%++ margin and I believe you are very misinformed about that as well. There is even such a thing as 200%,300% or even 400%. It really depends on which market, country and brand it is. For example, my local department store gets their branded cosmetic product for 10-15 % of the msrp and it's possible for them because they deal directly with the brand. ( here is a little inside, skII skin care product that sells for $150. They get it for less then 30)

Lastly, I don't know if you are talking about fragrance price as most of the supplier in here deals mainly with fragrance but what I'm looking for is cosmetic and skin care product and if you say that's competitive priceing then you need to check how much they sell in actual brand shop.
