i am wanting to import cars and am struggling to find any links through sale-hoo. Does anybody know of any car manufacturers (preferably near new cars) that can be reccommended.

there are some websites that give you a lot of information about cars and where to buy them (government auctions) but you have to pay a $50 joining fee to get information from their database

Its pretty easy to import cars from the USA. The problem is import fees and custom charges. For example if you export a BMW 7 series from the USA to China your paying almost 110% in taxes. For the same 7 series your paying 60k for in the USA in Shanghai that same car costs 145k USD. You just have to be sure that you will be able to sell it. I have only done this twice so I am not an expert at it or anything that is just my experience.

Not sure what the government taxes are in NZ for importing cars, but that is usually where it will hurt the hip pocket. That and the conversion, especially near new cars with all the saftey air bags and equipment!

There certainly are sites that will sell you there data base info, but one of the best free sites is Link hidden: Login to view for my money.

Not sure where you are wanting to import from, but if it is the US, then I would suggest you talk to DAS Link hidden: Login to view They are reconmended by ebay as their preferred carrier, and I'm sure they would be really helpful with your shipping information.

Good luck with the venture

Excel which is owned by DHL now is the largest freight company in the world, they will be able to help you also. You can find them under the DHL website as I don't think Excel using there own now.

Have you tried cheapcarfinder.com ? It's auction based though. I dont know about shipping though. They is a membership fee also. last I checked it was 39.95 or something like that. Buy might be worth a look.
