I'm trying to get my head around cell phones/mobile phones. All the wholesalers I have come across all call them,

EG: Quad band , dual sim, GSM .etc.

Does anyone know what all this means???

I'm just after standard basic cell phones that will work in New Zealand on our Vodafone network that uses a sim card, Particularly Sony Ericsson would be good.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Quadband phones work just about anywhere in the world because they cover all the main GSM bands Dual sim is where you can have 2 different providers in the one phone maybe one sim for business and the other for private use most Chinese phones dont have 3G capability
that is you cant access internet from your phone
cheers
