Hi,

I have a new design concept for a new small kitchen appliance that i need designed and manufactured. This appliance will be the first of its kind to be released for worldwide consumers. All I can say at this stage is that I need a design/manufacturing company that is specialized in refrigeration and heating.

Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum,

Have you given any thought as to what country you would like to have the work done?

Hi Mark, I thought China would be a good country as they are producing better quality products these days and the less expensive to manufacture the better price for consumers. I have sent emails to two manufacturers of electrical goods in China which i found on our Salehoo site for suppliers.Have you got any suggestions or can you give me any direction here. I have a background in engineering in the food production industry and my last role was Technical Development Manager. This Item I have had up my sleeve for a number of years now and would be sought after as a very convenient everyday kitchen appliance by many consumers worldwide. It's an item that may need patent rights. Can you put me in contact with someone that could help me as this invention has potential to make millions being the first of its kind. Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul,

If it's a product you want to protect, then you really need to sort out your patent before even thinking of discussing it with anyone. That should be the very first thing you do. In regards to sourcing someone for the work, I would suggest speaking with Elizabeth from IMEX who are a Chinese sourcing agent.

They will have the contacts to facilitate this type of procedure for you within China. You can get in touch with her here Link hidden: Login to view

Good luck with the project.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply, the problem these days is that patents only apply in certain countries and once a product is out there its not long before someone else copies its and the time and money involved in patenting is one thing I haven't got. I will contact Elizabeth and see how I go there. Ill keep in touch with my progress. If you do have any further ideas let me know as I would be most grateful. Thanks again Paul.

Hi Paul,

If the budget is low, this one may not even get off the ground. You'll have large tooling costs incured upfront before you even have to pay for the production costs of the units themselves. Let me know what Elizabeth says, she should be able to give you much better advice then myself.
