Tried this, and I saw your interest, but only three of us showing interest indicates that this one probably isn't going to fly unfortunately!

List what products you are looking to purchase. Then others may start posting if they are interested.

If you got into the first (2) groups that were started over a year ago you would not want to join anymore such groups.

I really can't see that this will ever fly again. Everybody wants to get into a buying group, however, I'd never do it again unless there was a properly documented business plan and a well set out proposal.

Difficult I can do right away. Impossible takes a little longer

i spent the last couple of days talking with storefront retailers about starting a small buying group. several of them said no but about 7 said they will do it if and only if they get to speak with the sales representatives to make sure that it isnt a scam. plus they get to decide on what to buy and who holds the money.
people should go out and talk to small retail stores and see if they would be at all interested in doing a local buying group. remember to go in looking and sounding professional and do not tell them you are an online retailer until after you have been talking for some time.

Why dont you pick 2 or 3 products or even design 2 or 3 products and see how much it will cost to have it made by a manufacturer in China. Then post for buyers to invest in the products.Or just pick one product or design one product example: maybe a blow up chair for gamers where a person can sit in front of the TV in comfort, have their drink in a holder and, have a fan blowing on them. The people who invested in the product would be the main distributors.

First off any group buy needs to be though out very well. And a plan needs to be set. We have formed a few groups like this on salehoo and they failed miserably.

If your considering something like a swap buy where you buy a mass quantity of products. You will need to arrange the Purchase. The pickup. What party's will be there for the pickup , who gets what from this purchase, and how you plan on distributing the product to the members of the group buy. Shipping is going to be your biggest concern.
