I bought a couple of new dinner rings & need to find a place to sell them but don't have marketing expertise. One is a 1.78 pinkish ruby/diamond ring, 14 ct gold, with certification card listing replacement value at $2750 & I'm looking for half of that. The other is a .25 diamond, 10 ct gold, also with certification card listing replacement valueof $850 & I'm looking for $500. I don't have a clue how to go about selling these pieces so I'm desperate for help. Doesn't Ebay charge a high percentage on something like this? Thanks.

Hi jerryo,

Ebay is most likely going to give you maximum exposure to a market, but as to whether you would get your asking price, who can tell unfortunately.

The biggest thing with ebay is you would need to calculate the listing fee, as well as the success fee in the event of a sale, ad those prices along with PayPal's take to your asking if those prices you have quoted are set in concrete.

Once you had that figure you could either list them at a Buy It Now price or on auction at a starting price that reflects the total figure required.

You may also consider talking to a specialist jeweller regarding selling them on commission for you if a sale wasn't required urgently.
