Hi alexyes,

The way any retailers would legitimately source branded goods - either they are one of the authorized distributors for these brands, or they got them most likely from liquidation. Ideeli is one of the flash sale sites, and the other popular luxury discount sites include Gilt Groupe, Rue La La and HauteLook.

As for the recent trend of flash sale shopping sites cultivating a loyal following, here's info from Link hidden: Login to view

"It's a combination of consumer psychology and brand strategy that has led to their high-velocity sales", said Paul Hurley, CEO of ideeli.com.

"Selling a product at a discount everyday is not good for brands. If everything's 20% off everyday, then the right price is 20% off,'' said Hurley. '

"Because it's limited time, because sometimes it sells out, it has the perception of scarcity."

Cheers!

@alex -- you can find authorised distributors by contacting the brand companies directly

Hi alexyes,

The list of authorized distributors/retail stores /resellers are usually provided in a link which you can see from the brand companies' website.

For example for Link hidden: Login to view distributor list is at

Each of the websites has a "contact us" page that provides details for you to be able to contact them directly.

Cheers!

Hi alexyes,

Basically, for resellers to be able to create a good profit margin, they need to source products at low wholesale prices. This is possible by purchasing in bulk from wholesale suppliers, manufacturers and/or from liquidation. Drop shipping is used by those who do not have or are not willing to cough up big capital to start up reselling, it gives the smallest margin, as you are essentially buying products individually, and you don’t benefit from volume discounts. Drop shipping however offers the advantage of letting you test a market without too much risk, and expanding your product range without having to invest heavily in stock. Others use these in combination, and you can read more about it at Link hidden: Login to view

For designer goods however it will be quite difficult, as most of the brand name products are being distributed through pre-approved retailers/distributors only. You can contact their authorized distributors or you can inquire how you could become an authorized distributor yourself. :) If the supplier doesn’t have the distribution rights for these brand name items, the items will be classed as fakes or unauthorized. You can only sell designer/branded goods if you are licensed to do so by the parent company. You also have legal rights to resell branded items if you purchased them from a factory store, a liquidator or from a major department store, all licensed to resell these branded products. License holders protect their copyright only through distribution. :)

And like other brand name companies, Nike sells their products through their authorized distributors and licensed retail stores. This is their course of action as part of their campaign to put an end to the distribution of any Nike imitations. The other way, aside from licensed retail stores, to get authentic Nike/Air Jordan products would be through liquidation.

And the following are some recommended liquidators for this product.
