I did a search for women's name brand clothing listed within the USA, from wholesale, liquidators and manufacturers, for $1000.00 or less minimum order. I didn't want to buy a pallet or truckload. Just a "lot", "bin" or "case". A small purchase. In fact 5 or 6 hundred dollars is about what I'd spend on a first order - and maybe even all orders afterward too. Not interested in massive quantities.

You would think, within the entire USA, there would be more results from that search than just one. I actually got three search results but one was located in Canada {despite my search specified for USA}, and one was drop ship {despite my search not being for drop ship ! I don't want drop ship and I don't want to order from Canada.

What is going on ? There has to be an amazing amount of suppliers within the USA who offer women's name brand clothing. So why does Salehoo have only one ? This I know is a popular category, and I can't be the only one wanting a small load of women's name-brand clothing from the USA. Yet the wholesalers and liquidators located within the USA aren't being represented here.

Or is it that rare to find a supplier that doesn't demand you buy a pallet or truckload ?!

Thank you.

Unfortunately, not all suppliers are dropshippers. Wholesalers typically want to sell large quantities at reduced prices rather than selling an item here and an item there. They want customers who have actual brick and mortar stores with inventory.

Hi Lori,

I'll pass on the search engine issue to the tech department for them to take a closer look and sort out that obvious problem. In regards to the volume of suppliers available for that particular genre in our directory. We don't just simply add suppliers to our directory, it's not an open source directory like most others offer.

The only avenue to get listed in the SaleHoo directory for suppliers is through an application process only. While that process is completely free for suppliers and we welcome all applicants, we do have a verification process that the supplier has to pass to be approved and admitted to the directory.

We do this to ensure a safe trading environment for our members, when they use a supplier from our directory members know that they have passed our criteria and we can recommend them as a safe trading partner.

So providing safe trading options for members is our focus, not simply listing just anyone and then putting members in a position where they are not trading with a safe supplier and therefore risking their money.

If, as you are finding, we don't currently have enough verified suppliers for your genre in the directory, you can email Link hidden: Login to view with your requirements and the support team will do their best to find you supplier leads outside of the directory for you to follow up with, however we can't of course verify they are safe to trade with, you will have to make that decision on your own.

So it's not a matter of us ignoring suppliers, it's quite simple. If they don't apply for verification or they do apply and don't pass the verification process (which a surprising amount of applicants do and are rejected) we simply can't recommend them as a safe trading partner for our membership who rely on us to provide such options.

Hi Perry,

Yes, absolutely correct. There are multiple supply options, drop-shipping, wholesale and liquidation options available in our directory. Each option suits different customer requirements. For buyers with good cashflow, wholesale is usually the best option because it offers the best per unit price, where as drop-shipping, while having it's own advantages, doesn't offer the same value as wholesale does.

Liquidation fits somewhere in between the two, certainly some cashflow required, but usually much less that a new product purchase through a wholesale supplier.

That level of flexibility offers supply options for all members.

To this discussion, try Link hidden: Login to view most of the suppliers are in Los Angeles, California. I hope this helps.

Hello Lori,

Sorry to read about your difficulty in finding a suitable supplier. Can you please let us know the specific brand(s) you are looking for? We can have one of our researchers assist you in locating suitable suppliers.

You're right there are many US based suppliers who are based in the US, but not all of them will dropship - this is your first hurdle and second dropshipping is not the best supply source for you when you plan on selling brand name items. It is already difficult finding wholesalers as it is. For brand name products liquidation is still your best option.

Here are two ways you can make the most of what SaleHoo's directory has to offer:

Suggestion #1: Find a Liquidator

One way you can make money off of branded products through SaleHoo's suppliers, is to find liquidators. Liquidators are middle-men companies that acquire stock very cheaply through wholesale liquidations and closeouts for when other stores shut down and liquidate their stock. Often, these include branded products in brand-new condition. They then sell this stock onto others.

Sometimes, liquidators will sell items individually, and other times, they will sell it in bulk lots. Liquidators can be a great way to pick up discounted branded items which you can resell. You can make a lot of money from liquidators: And this is often a very popular way to find discounted, branded clothing like Nike, Adidas and Louis Vuitton.

However, just keep in mind that this can be a great way to pick up discounted branded items for reselling. Just keep in mind that the supply is not guaranteed. Take advantage of these crazy good deals while you can!
Here are a few more tips to help you:

1. Don't get stuck attempting to see one type of product. Instead be open with the perspective that you're going to sell whatever is profitable. Look at a supplier's catalog and be flexible with which items you're willing to sell.
2. When using SaleHoo's directory to search for liquidators don't use specific very product names in your search. Instead, use the search engine filters to find liquidators in your particular category. So if you are wanting to search for iPhone liquidators, this would mean you should be looking for liquidators selling electronics.

3. Once you've found liquidators in these categories, stay up-to-date with their catalogs and keep an eye out for the items you want to buy.

Suggestion #2 Find Suppliers Who Sell Accessories for Popular Items

The other great way to make a lot of money using SaleHoo and these brands, is to use SaleHoo to find suppliers who stock accessories for popular items. We strongly recommend that most people sell accessories rather than the actual items themselves. Why? As a distributor of the physical hardware, you actually have very small profit margins anyway, as tiny as 1-5% profit margins. When you take into account the time and effort to sell them, you often make a LOSS, instead of a profit. Smaller items are generally easier to store, sell, pack and ship - with a lot less effort!

Hope this helps!

Thank you to everyone who replied.
I've edited my rant, I was so embarrassed about sounding so annoyed. I was disappointed and had a fit. I've edited my original post and added more info to it in order to clarify.

To annielynn0804,
Thanks you, and good luck on your search.

To peaduncan,
Thank you but I wasn't looking for a drop shipper. And yes, some liquidators and wholesalers do sell lower quantities of clothing, not all of them demand that you buy a pallet or huge load. They might be harder to find but I know the exist.

To Mark/fudjj,
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Have you heard back from the tech department about that yet ?
Thanks for the explanation and also for the suggestion to contact support to help me find the specific sort of supplier I need. Yes, I'm OK with investigating them myself. I read reviews and also search the Better Business Bureau for info on any supplier. Sorry about my original rant {I've edited too by the way}.

To cynthiahopeton,
Thank you for that.

To Richelle /Site Admin richelle_salehoo,
Sorry, but I never said I'm looking for a drop shipper.
:)
I know how to search the directory for liquidators and wholesalers but thanks for the advice. Despite my prior searches I found only one located within the USA, as I said in my post. I was looking to buy a small order of name-brand women's clothing.
Thank you for asking - but there's no specific name brand I want. I'm looking for mixed loads of various name-brand women's clothing. A mix of name brands is OK, and I need to buy in small quantities like "cases", "bins" or "lots".
I don't want pallets or truckloads.
Thanks very much.

Hi Lori,

No problems at all, we all have those days :)

Yes, I have reported the search issues you highlighted so they will definitely be taking a look at resolving that problem.

We do have a few liquidators in the directory, I don't usually recommend one over any other, but in regards to your size limit I will suggest taking a look at Via Trading. Via used to do box loads, even gaylords as well, so those two options may suit well.

So I would certainly suggest speaking with them, but it won't hurt to contact all the liquidators and see what type of small fashion lots they can put together for you.

Cheers

Hello again Lori :)

I did a quick search for branded clothing and had several returns of various types of suppliers. You may want to have a look at the ones in this [ur/Link hidden: Login to view Unfortunately we cannot filter out the searches by countries but by continents so yes, you will get some suppliers from Canada when you search for North America.

Here's a direct link to Via Trading - Link hidden: Login to view

Just a tip, when your keyword does not return any suitable results or any results at all - It's best to play with it a bit :)

Let me know if you need further assistance. All the best!
