Hi, You all keep asking me about setting up a Salehoo Store, now how do I do that if I really don't have much inventory, there are no drop shippers for what i wanted to sell so now I need to change my niche. So what good would setting up a store do me if i only have drop shippers to use? I'm new at this stuff & have no clue how to set up my own website! I have a few things for sale on Ebay but I only sell something occasionally . I realize a store or my own website would be best I just don't see how i can do it. So if you can help that would be great! Thanks for your time!!

Hi Sherry

I don't really understand your edited post, can you please clarify for me.

Reading it, it seems to be a question that has been sent to you by someone. Can you tell me who the question is from, it would be best if I could get to the bottom of it by answering them directly, but I am quite confused by it currently

You start off by saying "you all keep asking me about setting up a SaleHoo Store" I have no idea who you are speaking of or why they are asking this person this question if they are not from support itself?

Ok. to be clear, I have gotten emails from you Mark about opening a SaleHoo Store. I suppose these are just automatic emails sent out on a regular basis. So I want to know what I have to have in my possession in order to open a SaleHoo Store. Do I have to have thousands of dollars of inventory on hand? Do I have to have a bunch of drop shippers available or what? You say I don't need any "technical knowledge" to open a store. ok just exactly what do I need? Thanks for your time!

Hi Sherry,

OK, sorry for my confusion. You're right, you are referring to an automatically generated email, hence me not having a clue lol. So regarding the Store's platforms, there are a few different platforms and to choose from that are based on price and design, you can see more detail here Link hidden: Login to view

In regards to what you would need, apart from the subscription fee of course. You would need to stock it, so yes, you would certainly need to have your supply resources sorted, be them dropshipping, wholesale or what ever your preference would be. If you're going the route of developing you're own store, then you really should try to make the most of it by having a very healthy sock profile for customers to choose from, at least that is my opinion.

There are a few important key things you need to get right, stock profile being one, but traffic flow being another. Having your own website is great and I think what every online seller should ultimately be aspiring to if they want long term success, but getting the traffic flow is probably the hardest thing to obtain out of everything.

It's great having a well stocked online platform, but if no one is coming through the door, then no one even has a chance of buying anything and all your time, money and effort is just sitting there gathering dust in cyberspace. So you need to develop and clear and possible plan on how to generate that traffic flow before anything at all in my opinion.

Cheers

Thanks Mark, this stuff just seems pretty over whelming when you are just starting out! Not sure if I have the energy to learn all I need to learn to make a go of this, but thanks for advice!

I think an individual store paltform should definitely be a long term strategy if you are serious about building a business, but I would stick to platforms like eBay when just starting out personally. Not always going to give you the best margins, but they provide the traffic that at least gives you a fighting chance of making sales, and that's about the best anyone can hope for when just starting out in this game.
