Hi
I am in Brisbane and starting out. I searched the word 'australia' in the search box selecting 'all categories' and found it easier to come up with a list of suppliers more quickly than going through each category.

I just found this site:

Link hidden: Login to view

Shipping to Sydney and certain regional Queensland centres are charged at approximately $10.00 for below 5kg and $19.50 for up to 20kg.
This appears better than the sites which charge you shipping for each individual item.

This website is for wholesale ordering only. All products are sold in minimum quantities as specified in their description and our minimum order is $180.00. The minimum quantity appears to be 12 and the prices appears quite reasonable.

One can register and shop online. Registration appears simple.

I am working my way through the list to see what other reasonable suppliers I can find.

Hi
I bookmarked 51 businesses this afternoon to look at in further detail, by searching with the word 'Australia'.
The majority are companies in Australia, with a few in the States or Asia, that would sell to start up businesses.

Usually there is a minimum order involved, with companies in Australia offering shipping based on weight instead of per item.
Some are reviewed, some not. I've had a quick look at their websites, but now I have a list, I can check them out in more detail.
I believe that I'll find a couple to start off with.

I hope that helps, but I would be interested to hear from other members in Australia too and how they started.
I find this forum really useful. By reading questions and answers and working my way through the education sessions, I have made a good start.

Cheers

Hello and welcome, wahaj-siddiqi :)

Is there anything you find interesting or want to sell? Many online sellers succeed by selling what they are passionate about :) But of course you have to couple this with research.

Let me know what you feel like selling and I'll do my best to locate suitable suppliers for you.

Talk soon!

Hi wahaj I am also starting off and cannot find any items that are priced well enough to sell on eBay
I find that prices are the same on eBay or slightly lower leaving no profit margin.
I am also from Australia in Melbourne.
Hopefully someone can help us.

John

Hello wahai-siddiqi,

Are you open to using Dropshippers or suppliers from outside Australia? If you are, you might find the list in this new thread helpful - Link hidden: Login to view

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Hello John,

eBay has become an extremely competitive marketplace and it is not uncommon to find products selling at prices the same as or lower than wholesaler. How can this be? Because lots of wholesalers sell on eBay directly to the public! Unfair yes, but its the reality.

What can you do about it?

* Order in bulk quantities to drive the wholesale price down
* Sell on another auction site other than eBay - there are heaps to choose from and profit margins are usually better. Craigslist is also a good place to sell if you live in the USA. (Let us know if you need more suggestions for places to sell online)
* Buy liquidation - this lets you get product for pennies on the dollar. (I’ll let you in on a secret, this is how lots of powersellers make money on eBay these days)
* Find a niche market with few competitors - collectibles and one-off items have amazing profit margins, even on eBay.

These days, you have to be pretty savvy to survive on eBay. Cheers :)

You can do a general Google search for Surplus Suppliers or Liquidators (same thing) I would recommend looking at Topper International, they are a verified supplier that we have here in our directory. I would also be happy to recommend VIA Trading as well, another very good surplus supplier.

Try your local Stores, Some not all that sell brand name products cannot return unsold stock, Thats why we have sales, but sales sometimes to the retailer are a pain to handle, and they could possibly prefer to sell a larger quantity to you at a discount rather than selling one at a time to general customers.
Now I don't do this as I am not in Clothing but I know of a few people that do quite well from this.
Also checkout some people selling there own clothing brand at markets, you might find they are bursting at the seams to get their brand name out there in the market place but just don't know how, or they are just too busy making cloths.

Hi,
I'm living Brisbane Australia. I'm interested in selling electronic products such as tablets, phones, projectors...
Currently, I only use Chinavasion for dropshipping on eBay.
I'm trying to find some more suppliers that can do the same thing.
Can anyone help me?

Thank you

We sell a lot to Aus and we are based in the UK. Yes shipping might be abit much, but UK prices are usually cheaper so it balances out well.
