Hi, I'm kind of new in this online business which i think its great!! and my point is this...

I've surfed through an Auction Mexican webpage called Link hidden: Login to view and I found something REALLY INTERESTING,

I have seen many sellers who upload their listings of products they don't have in stock! They are an "intermediary" and my brainteaser is:

How they contact with USA stores that only Ship to the USA in order to somehow they ship to Mexico without paying huge loads of money for importing taxes?

They ask the store to ship the product to a post office such as Fedex, Estafeta, UPS within the USA and after that the product is shipped to a Mexican address? If so, HOW CAN I MAKE THIS CONTACT TO START SELLING ONLINE like this person.. just take a look at this link

Link hidden: Login to view

Almost in the bottom of the page says that the product is delivered within "7 to 10" business days so he is importing directly from the USA store to his customer address in MEXICO

Please if someone know how to tie the knots I'll be very thankful ;)

Sincerely

Miguel

Hi Miguel,

My best guess is that the seller is passing on the tariffs to his customers, from what I picked up in your post he is dropshipping products from the US -
I have seen many sellers who upload their listings of products they dont have in stock

Also, some suppliers will ship items as gifts to avoid import duties. We don't recommend this practice though as you might get in serious trouble if your package was intercepted by customs.

I tried searching for the import threshold, many countries have a certain minimum value that does not require any duties but was not able to find one for US - Mexico importation.

Any more experienced members are welcome to pitch in :)

Hope this helps, somehow...

Hi Miguel,

I assume the seller has a very useful contact (in the USA) that helps purchase and forward his Armani purchases to his buyers in Mexico. He claims to buy the items straight from ArmaniExchange USA, but as the Armani USA website states,
At this time, our US website accepts orders from within the 48 continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico only.

Please note: The credit card used to purchase from our website must be issued and have a billing address within the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico.

We are unable to accept or ship orders placed on our US website outside of the United States.

The tees he listed at his store is at 70% off on sale from Armani Link hidden: Login to view and they get sent for free, no miminum order, within USA. That makes profit possible, especially if the shipping gets shouldered by his buyers.

But then again these are assumptions, the closest I can think of. :)

In case you'll need this info, here's the link to Mexico's import requirements and documentation Link hidden: Login to view

I'd say your assumptions are spot on, based on the comments in his listing. He even directs a couple of customers to the AX site, to get back to him with what they're interested in so that he can given them a price. Since AX doesn't ship out of the US, he obviously has a person stateside buying them then shipping them to him, or directly to his customers.

I have friends in mexico that has whatever they buy shipped to an address near the border then they arrange to have it sent to mexico from there. I think they had items shipped to laredo Texas.
