Hey has anyone heard the news on Auctiva's free listing templates ? I read in July that none of Auctiva's services will be free. The change comes do to ebay's upcoming changes. Does anyone have any good tools that they use to list their products??

Thanks,
Don

I just read that. The scrolling gallery is the only tool I use & that will continue to be free.

Yeah it is kind of ridiculous but hey that's what happens when the ebay beast gets their hands in too many things. Designerthriftshop-Can you suggest adternative listing templates I could use without a fee?

You might try NVU. It is a wysiwyg tool and I have used it to great results.

Dreamweaver is a program to design websites. Difficult for the non web site graphics designer to use. I don't know any other free services however try typing 'free graphics for eBay' in Google. There may be a few things there.

I am concerned about this. My experience is companies that switch to a paid service, do not last long after the switch.

Redroller being one of them. They died in 08 and went to chapter 11. Its usually a last ditch effort to save oneself.

When your free for so many years, users feel betrayed after the switch to a paid service.

With the fees users may look at other similar services like Vendio whose pricing now seems better.

Hey John,

I totally agree with you and I too am concerned with this change. I have been with Auctiva for almost a year and to be honest I have had my share of troubles with the string of bugs that the company ran into with the site being hacked into a few months back and their templates seem to freeze and the site continuesly running these updates which in return shuts down the site. I also signed up for their Auctiva Commerce Store and that seems to be creating more problems with the user experience. They seem to have this pressure if you may coming from all different directions both from it's quick decision to branch out into this Commerce platform and with ebay changing it's third party program templates policy. Come next week I will also be cancelling my account with Auctiva because this sure will drive customers away. Now this all is just my experience and I am sure this doesn't happen do all others but having coming from a Free service platform to a paid platform will damage their reputation some.

I could not agree more. Patience and some research will probably pay off. something fishy going on with auctiva that we're not being told.

Hi sillcool1,

Something does seem fishy about what Auctiva is doing and what their reason for going to a paid platform was ebay changed their third-party policy and somehow auctvia said ebay took a huge part of their revenue funding which helped them stay a free platform for years.
