Who's using the featured listing option on ebay these days, and what sort of results are you generating?

It's a marketing tool that I've never actually used, but in the current field I think it may serve pretty well to generate some traffic to the store, if nothing else, so I'm thinking of giving it a test drive.

How is everyone else finding it, worth the spend?

Hmmm I used that feature a long time ago and it seemed to give alot of traffic to my store but cant remember the amount of sales I got from using it.

BTW Mark are you already using ebay's new price structure including the New Fixed Price format for ebay stores? if so you probably are already getting increased traffic to your store with the new BINs.

Generating traffic at this point is what's most important, want to get the word out to the target market, so if a 30 day featured can do that, over and above regular listing, well worth the spend for me.

Not sure about the changes here yet Don, we only have a few BIN set and a basket full of auctions going, so I haven't even looked at that yet lol

Just been trying to lubricate the account over the last couple of weeks with a few auctions and some good value BIN options before we get serious and crank up the volume some.

Running a few weeks behind getting our templates completed unfortunately, store should be stocked, and we should be operating close to 100% capacity at this point, but it's coming along : )

Have to admit, feels good getting in amongst it on ebay once more, I do enjoy the competition it provides, as strange as that may sound lol.

Monster, pretty close to the 'Mark' lol

Funny actually, pushing the envelope a bit with various ebay policies with the development of this lol, I think we've spend more time on the phone with ebay support clarifying just how far we can push, and then trying to work out ways we can push further that they haven't yet covered with a policy, than we have actually doing any coding lol

I reckon they'll be keeping a very close eye on us for quite a while, just making sure we are walking inside the yellow line lol

The best part of the featured listing is that one puts a lot of items up in the listing. Then rides the featured listing and continues to make sales from the one listing so the initial cost is more than covered. Basically, using it to sell more than one item right?

To be honest it's not really being considered as an immediate sales tool, more as a general traffic flow option to get feet through the store. The listing featured would be cut to the point where it provided no margin at all, and that's to ensure the listing is as effective as possible at generating an increase of traffic flow.

Sure, if some sales came from other store stock due to the effectiveness of it drawing in traffic, then bonus, but not part of the criteria that concerns me.

It's really about building brand awareness among our target market at the moment, and if others have experienced traffic flow increases when using the strategy, despite that actual sales results, then that should serve the purpose we need it for quite well.

Thanks for the input guys.
