Another option for starting your own shop, independent of ebay, is to look at a format like Zen Cart, completely free ecommerrce solutions, however you can pay for a template upgrade to flash it up a little more if you wish.

You can then hook up an affiliate marketing account through clixgalore for as little as $150 to start up.

You can use PayPal or Credit Card payment options hooked through your own merchant account, or at least most of them as well.

Throw in the cost of a domain, and hosting package, and anyone can have their own online shop, with affiliate marketing, for just a few hundred dollars, no reason to pay more these days, especially for new sellers.
