All three of the abominated companies are listed on SaleHoo, but the reviews from customers on Google say they're scams. On trustpilot.com 1-star reviews for Ankaka are countered with 5-star reviews that look fake because they don't mention any order details and just sound like ads, sometimes copy-pasting exactly the same text under different names. In April 2018, I ordered 2 packages from TinyDeal via free shipping just to test the company. One package has successfully arrived in July. The packing was below par, so a cardboard box in which my wallet arrived was completely smashed and broken -- seeing this a customer would never order anything from my shop again! I ordered it as a gift and was completely shocked at the condition in which arrived. The second package has been sitting in Laos since May. I've now opened a PayPal dispute for a refund. From what I'm reading online this is a standard way of operation for them. Did anyone have any experience with these companies? Thanks.

Hi Caroline,

Sorry to hear about your order issues with TinyDeal. We have reached out to them regarding this so they assist you. We've had one customer who contacted us previously about a shipping concern. We forwarded it to TinyDeal and they responded accordingly and sorted the issue out.

We've had not received any feedback from SaleHoo members regarding Ankaka's order fulfillment though. As for Chinavasion there have been a couple of customer service concerns (unresponsive to initial emails) and assistance with returns, but like TinyDeal they were able to resolve the issue with the customer.

We will get in touch with you once we hear back from TinyDeal.

Hi Shane. Thank you for your feedback.

I want to recommend to other folks to research the supplier before they deal with them. Google reviews, check scamadviser.com. Always pay with PayPal, so you at least stand a chance of getting your money back through this payment provider. You must file a refund claim with PayPal in the event that a shipment has never arrived or not as described within 180 days of paying. It’s a good idea to get a tracking number, even if you have to pay extra -- you can use it as evidence. I've made a mistake of not buying a tracking number from Banggood, now I have no idea what happened to my purchase.

I ordered 2 small packages from TinyDeal and 1 from Banggood to test the suppliers in April, 2018. It's October now, and 1 TinyDeal package and a Banggood package that were shipped just haven't made it.

I have emailed Banggood and received no response to query. When I contacted the supplier again, my emails bounced off as "undeliverable". I made an order with this supplier, but now I am not able to contact them to help me with my problems? Money is taken. Now I have no goods and no money.

I'm currently waiting for a PayPal depute resolution regarding TinyDeal and Banggood. Trying to get my money back from these suppliers is an ordeal.

My personal experience with TinyDeal turned out exactly the same as what other legit buyers have written in their online reviews. The suppler refused to give me my money back. Their answer was a generic reply instructing me to wait for the goods, but I've already waited for half a year. 6-months delay is in no way due to poor weather conditions or slow customs clearance, plus the tracking indicates that my parcel arrived in Laos en route to my destination in May where it simply disappeared. When I asked for a refund, I kept getting told to simply "wait".

Under the PayPal terms, I have the legal right to a refund if I don't receive my purchase within 180 days. TinyDeal, however, has been quite aggressive in acting as if they're not sure if I'm entitled to a refund. Thank goodness I know my rights. In a third letter they offered to return 70% of the money they took from me. After I advised them that I'm entitled to a full refund under the PayPal buyer protection the supplier did not reply to me anymore. So I filed for a PayPal resolution. Here is my appeal:

"I'm appealing for a resolution, as my purchase from Tinydeal Trading Limited have never arrived within a reasonable 180-days time and a seller is refusing to give a me full refund of my purchase' cost. I have brought goods from Tinydeal to the amount of $5,69 USD with free shipping on 26 April, 2018. The parcel was dispatched by Tinydeal on 30 April, 2018 but never arrived to my destination. My tracking records, as given in our PayPay correspondence, indicate that the package has not moved from Laos in 6 months, with tracking number stating "Expired". The solutions that the seller has proposed during our PayPal correspondence, such as waiting indefinitely for my purchase to arrive or refunding only a part of my money, are not acceptable to me as I consider these to be unfair and a breach of contract agreement. After my last request for a full refund on PayPal, I received no refund or any further communication from the seller."

I believe it's a good idea to report the traders acting unfairly. This probably won't help resolve my case but it could stop them from taking advantage of other people.

Update: Just got an email from PayPal stating that Banggood refunded me in full for an order that they dispatched in May but I never received the parcel. No questions asked, no disputes going back and forth. A prompt, hassle-free refund. I trust this company now.

Hi Caroline,

Thanks for providing feedback with regards to the resolution of the refund from Banggood.

We have reached out to TinyDeal several times over the last couple of weeks to inquire about your order, unfortunately we have not received a response about this matter at all. Their listing has been taken down from SaleHoo as a supplier.

Once again, we are very sorry you had a problem with a SaleHoo supplier. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.
