Joined Salehoo several days ago and so far still exploring. In my search for Dropshippers I see that some charge an annual fee. Specifically EnRoute Global costs $497 to join. Am I interpreting this correctly? And if so why doesn't Salehoo's summary indicate in the write-up that there is a fee. EnRoute's website is not very clear so if I have misinterpreted I apologize.

Hi John and welcome to the forum,

Yes, some suppliers do have additional account charges, some up front and some monthly. Of course some have no fees at all, but you just have to balance everything between them all to see who is ultimately going to be giving you the best possible deal for your money.

I completely agree with you in regards to including this type of information within a suppliers profile and that idea, as well as a few other new inclusions are on the to do list currently. So hopefully, we'll have that all sorted for everyone's benifit very shortly :)

Mark,
Thanks for your response. While I was waiting for someone to respond, I learned much more about Enroute Global, none of it positive. Several individuals suggested that we stay away from this company. As you know I only joined Salehoo several days ago and this kind of experience is leaving me to wonder if Salehoo is truly vetting their Dropshippers.
The $497 membership fee is ludicrous nit to mention the additional $4500 for product feeds. I did sign up free so I could see their prices, higher than prices on Amazon.
Fortunately I have found other wholesalers and Dropshippers on Salehoo that do appear to be reputable so perhaps I'll keep the faith for now.

Hi John,

Regarding feedback, without knowing the full facts about who or what the details of what was said to you in regards to staying clear of this supplier, it's impossible for me to comment. If you or anyone else feels that there is a legitimate issue with this supplier that requires out scrutiny, then we would appreciate being notified of the details so we can look into the situation.

In regards to our vetting processes, we have a very rigid veriifcation process with set standards that all suppliers must pass to be approved and included in our directory.

Once again I would encourage you or anyone else with the information that you are suggeting exists about this supplier to pass on to us for further examination of the issue at hand. Meerly casting dispursions about a supplier doesn't assist anyone, it just encorages people to propogate unfounded rumour and we would rather deal in fact.

Mark, once again thanks for your response. While you are perfectly correct in asking for specific feedback, I would have to backtrack and locate the websites where I read user comments. I don't believe that is part of my responsibility. As a consumer, I can only rely on user feedback(visible to everyone) much as I do on websites like Amazon, TripAdvisor, Angie's List, Etc. Similarly, my decision to sign on with Salehoo was based very much on the overwhelmingly positive feedback I read on various websites. Regarding this supplier, much of what I learned was regarding failure or delayed response to phone calls, emails as well as feedback regarding the cost of the program. Had I learned before researching that this vendor charges a membership fee, my discovery process would have ended there.
I am still very positive and optimistic as to the support and benefits that Salehoo provides.

Hi John,

I actually misunderstood, I thought you had meant you were getting feedback from SaleHoo members. We can't follow up on supplier complaints from other forums anyway because we aren't able to validate that feedback. That said, issues like account fees and customer service negatives are quite common to find about all suppliers, but they aren't issues we would be able to act on even if those issues were raised by our community.

I think it's absolutely valid to take feedback seriously, no matter where you read it. The only thing I would say regarding suppliers that charge account fees, don't judge them on that point in isolation. Many do, as soon as they see a fee attached they take a very negative approach to the supplier straight away. No one likes paying those sorts of fees, but I think you have to judge a supplier in regards to the total value they provide. Product prices, bonus scheme opportunitiesm shipping times and so on.

Some times even with an account fee, the supplier can still be a better choice over a supplier with no fees.

Customer service itself is something that seems to be a serious issue among most dropship suppliers for some reason. I can understand that they get swamped with inquiries, but I'll never understand why they don't treat all inquiries as priorities. One tip I would suggest, make sure the supplier has a phone contact option.

If you ever need to get a problem resolved in a hurry, the last thing you want to be doing is relying on email alone. You need a means to contact them and have a resolution in place asap.

Cheers
