i dont know weather this is the right forum to be posting this to but i really need some advice. i was selling some blackberry copies on ebay my description was very accurate and i had no complaints because of the listing or anything like that i was dropshipping these phones using DHgate. but the payments were being held by paypal witch was fine i mangaged to get enough phones shipped that when they were delivered i could have had the rest of my phones shipped to my customers. but paypal decided to limit my account for apparantly no reason at all and they wanted proof of delivery but they wanted it for 5 phones that i had not shipped yet and basicly if you have used dhgate you know that they only accept paypal besides wire transfers and i did not feel comfortable enough to pay by wire transfer so i called paypal and i got a supervisor over there to agree to lift the limitations after some of the phones i had shipped were delivered (not the 5 specific ones they wanted) so i said ok and yesterday after some of the phones were delivered i called and tryed to get a hold of that specific supervisor that was a b***h never actually got to talk to him but end result i had some claims because my ebay account was suspended due to the limitations put on my paypal account so people got worried that they werent going to get the phones so i refunded them there were 5 of them i refunded them all and then i realized that these 5 people i refunded were the 5 people i had to provide proof of delivery for so paypal told me that because i refunded them i could not provide what they wanted to get my account limitations lifted and they closed my account i cant get my ebay account back so basicly i am out of business after a month because of paypal. any suggestions of what i can do to get my paypal account back or any other way to continue selling online without paypal or ebay and still make decent money?

Well first off I am very sorry you had all that trouble. Unfortunately Like I posted in another forum ebay and Paypal do not seem to like dropshippers and can easily get burned by ebay if you don't get tracking numbers. What I could recommend is try out Bonanzle.com or Atomicmall.com . These sites do not have anywhere near the traffic that ebay gets BUT what I would say is if you have the money asside Do some aggressive marketing with Google adwords and site listings I also recommend Linkrefferal.com which is basically free traffic. Get on sites like Facebook and twitter and sign up for their ad service which is a fee but its basically like google adwords and you get to manage it to your budget. There are hundreds of auction sites out there but right now you need sales asap and those 2 sites that I listed are the closest right now to ebay traffic. Ioffer- I don't recommend because of their major high fee structure and amazon doesn't like dropshippers either. Give those a shot and see what happens.

sgr-wholesale. you can get back on, but you have to do a few things first.

open a new bank account, or get a prepaid visa card wit at least 50.00 on it.

then get yourself a new pc. if you cant afford to purchase one you can always lease on from one of those rental places like arrons. blue hippo is also a good source you can find them online.

once you do those things, you can then create new accounts with both ebay and paypal.

let me also say, ive known people who used the same pc, but a new bank account. and it worked. so im not sure about the pc part.

Yep, this one is a start from scratch scenario once more would also be my best advice.

Just watch out for PayPal to limit your funds once more because it will most definitely happen, so make sure you anticipate that move.

thanks for all the advice but i think i am going to take a different approach that i probably should have taken in the first place i have talked to my bank about a merchant account through them they have a merchant system for internet sales and they also accept paypal payments so ive been searching the web and i am thinking about using CRE loaded and starting an online store now i know this would be a rough road at first trying to get traffic but i think it will pay off big in the long run. i just need the funds to do this i am trying to find some investors if anyone has any good advice on where i can find a couple of investors please let me know.

Investors will be hard to find in this current economic climate, but what you are going to need if you have any chance is a detailed proposal to submit. You are not only going to have to give an investor confidence in both your business model and your ability in operating that model, but you are going to have to show them a very clear and defined path to where their profit will be made.

If you can do that, then you have a chance in finding investors in any economic climate.

Hello srg-wholesale

I am new to this.

I am based in the UK. Would it be ilegal to sell copy blackberry phones here?

What description did you use for people to search for the listings without infringement on copyrights, etc..
and how does it effect the terms and conditions with ebay?

Also I looked at normal non-branded phones with Dhgate, and there were power sellers selling those phones at less than cost, this was generally true for a lot of products, what chance have a new starter like me have?

Can anyone advise me of a product and manufactuerer which is cheap to ship and I can make at least

kal i would advise you not to sell the copy phones it is just not worth the hassle in the long run you will have a lot of unsatisfied customers due to people misunderstanding the listing and paypal i had my paypal account closed so i dont have access to any of my money for 6 months its just not worth it i am using chinavasion on my store they have incredibly fast shipping of course the shipping is a little on the higher side but i am very satisfied with them

... i was selling some blackberry copies on ebay ...

umm, yeah, that was your first error. I'm surprised that a VERO did not remove your listing for copyright violation. you cannot sell fakes/copies on eBay, it is flat out illegal. you can't even sell genuine brand names without permission of the VERO, or at least providing substantial proof on your listing that your item is genuine.

if you attempt to sell copies on eBay, your listing will be removed and you risk (pretty much guarantee) having your ebay account suspended. so, dont sell copies or items that violate copyright, and you wont encounter those types of problems. it's as simple as that. =)

DONT GIVE UP... dhgate provides tracking numbers with every order... get on dhgate and go to the tracking section of the order form. You can track the EMS number through USPS site. Get back on the phone with paypal and tell them they should not be able to suspend your account because of delivery confirmation if you can prove they are at least enroute. Then talk to a supervisor, then talk to their supervisor. Email ebay and tell them what you are trying to accomplish and ASK FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE. Then call them, then email then call while you are emailing. Their really should not be a reason to suspend an account because of shipping or delivery concerns. It may take a while but dont give up, you are not done for yet!!!

It is ok to sell what appears to be a replica as long as it is not produced or sold as the real thing. I will give you an example. A few months ago I sold some of the MP3 players from China that come in a variety of colors and look like the iPod Nano. Although the packaging and the product looked exactly like a iPod the words Apple and iPod were no where to be found on anything. The package simply said MP3 Player and that was it. My auction description and auction title did not mention Apple or iPod either. I was selling a MP3 player and nothing more. Now if I had tried to sell this as a Apple iPod Nano then I would have been in some real trouble!

I might have missed the part in my advise about the blackberry being a knock off, but if I did read right that wasnt your problem, it was a mystery shipping issue, correct?

i am working with paypal to get my account back with virtually no luck until today i guess it depends on who you talk to ive talked to supervisor after supervisor and have been for days everyday i have been calling and trying to get my account back but today i actually got a different response usually they have been telling me there is no way for me to get the account back but today i got a supervisor to tell me that he will review the account more and talk to a few other people and get back with me in 72 hours of course he said he cannot promise anything but at least i have made some progress with them and someone is finally trying to help me instead of giving me the big middle finger
