This is by far the best lowcost investment I had. I'm very impressed with the directory listing. It cut my search time to just a minute or two! Thank you so much for putting together this great site and continue to manage such awesome business. Outstanding!

just wanted to add something to what was on the last page, i was a gothboy/punk for many years. it's very exspensive to dress the part. and it can be hard to find. thats probably a great business to get into, there will always be teen angst no matter how bad the recession. and plenty of angry little rich kids to keep you in business. wish i would have thought of that.

If you are going to deal in electronics loads from any liquidator, you need to know what type of stock you are buying.

For example, the cheapest lots will be salvage, basically means nothing is working and stock could have major damage. The next lot will be customer returns, these loads can also be quite inexpensive, but while you should find a percentage of products working, there will be a percentage bot working and some possibly suffering major damage.

The most expensive electrical loads will be scratch and dent stuff and new over stocks. These type of loads will cost you the most, but you pretty much get what you pay for.

Ask the liquidator what type of stock the load consits of, and if they say mixed or even worse, won't give you a straight answer.....tread very carefully!

You can make a stack on liquidated electrical loads, but you have to know what you're doing, those that don't run the risk of losing out BIG time!

Unfortunately I can't comment on the supplier, not aware of them at all.

Interesting you should mention that jk, I was talking with a member based in NZ who was looking to source the same product line, and she said the exact same thing...he sales were going like wildfire and she was trying to buy in bulk to keep up with demand!

ya i think thats what i was reading on the page before this. were you ever able to find what she was looking for? i dont know about nz but in the u.s. all that stuff is WAY overpriced yet kids buy it up. maybe if you could find some hot topic returns or something, she could make a killing off that

Couldn't tap into anything decent at the time, but I might revisit that again now. One thing about the liquidation market, you never really know what's around the corner :)

What is the best line of products to sell on eBay?

That's a pretty open sort of question, you may want to ad some judging critera so members are better able to give you their opinion.

For example, is the biggest selling item the best because it sells the most, but returns the least profit because of market competition, or is the best product the one that sells for the best profit and so on.

Everyone's idea of the best isn't always the same, so work out what you want to get from a product!

Hi EBAY613,

Everyone here has their own little areas of expertise and ways of making money. Some guys dropship and some guys wholesale and yes sometimes there are some friendly opinions expressed in the spirit of competition. But basically what is important is what YOU want to do . Don't take it to heart firstly have a good look around and seek out guys who are doing what you are planning to do and listen, read and learn. The forum here is very good for free info from guys who are doing what you are and there are some guys who are big wholesalers and who knows maybe down the track they can assist you as well.
Everyone starts out differently here and sure,if you have the cash to buy a lot of things you can wholesale but if you don't have the cash and want to build up to it then dropshipping is an acceptable form of doing that. Both these methods work in varying degrees and results depend on how much research and work and time and effort you want to put into it.Your money is well spent just by using this forum...I promise. There are guys here like Fudjj,Planes,Bevsey and others with a wealth of information that can benefit you greatly and you will recoup your investment in knowledge and business acumen faster than you think.

i just wanted to add my opinion of salehoo for ebay613, when i first signed up for salehoo, maybe a month ago now? i was REALLY overwhelmed w/ all the suppliers, couldn't find what i was looking for, couldn't find much of anything i could profit from on ebay. so i spoke up, i posted a forum saying i couldn't find what i wanted, i got a lot of advice and a few leads. people on here were very helpful. but the true value of salehoo is this forum. i have learned so much about this business that i knew nothing about. and im still learning. running an online business takes A LOT of hard work, if you are willing to put in the work, you will find salehoo to be extremely helpful. could it be better? sure. but put in some time, do some research, ask questions, ask more questions, do some more research, you'll find it was well worth your $67 at least thats my opinion

Howzit peeps! I am also a newbie here as well as on Ebay, to be more accurate I have joined up today on Salehoo. I had a quick look at a couple of cell phone suppliers but the prices are way out compared to Ebay. I live in South Africa and my main objective is to find a cheap supplier and buy stock to sell here in S.A. Any advice on where I will find the bargains or where to go and look? Through Ebay there is always a middle man and I am trying to hook up with a good supplier. Any help or advice will be great!

Thanks guys!

Hi Mr Hueber i have little experiance and not much capital i am looking to sell consumer electronics. i live in Australia and our dollar is always lower then the Americans this means in norder for me to make phrofit of low cost items in the method of dropshiping i have to turn to the asian market i know that this is a risky move as they have a reputation for being of low quality. i woul appreciate it if you could tell me of some suppliers from asia with good reps and i know about mk enterprises and dh gate any others

Thank you for the welcome. I have a wonderful friends that have been in the U.S. for 6 years. They are origionally from Russia. Tatyana my partner says there is a great opportunity to send quality goods to Russia because they get most of their products from China and Turkey, but the quality is horrible. They also get small amounts from Italy, Spain, France, and Germany, but these products are way expensive.

Tatyana was the first supervisor for Avon in Russia and had over 100 women working under her. With this network already established our only concern is how to get it shipped as cheaply as possible.

She also has a brother - in - law that could receive the merchandise and get the orders ready and keep tabs on everything.

Any help you could send our way would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Deborah and Tatyana

We are getting more and more inquiries from that area, shipped three pallet loads of shoes to the Ukraine a few weeks ago, never expected to do that....lol

Shipping is always the big killer, that and the exchange rate!

What sized loads are you looking to ship, are we talking containers?

Actually, what sort of products are you wanting to ship, will you be buying direct from wholesalers?

Should i go thru one from Australia or that doesn't really matter? Also im not sure how to approach the drop-shippers? If some one could help me i will appreciate.

I'm already an Ebay seller... i have been selling personal items for over 2 years but now I want to set my online business and I reckon salehoo and drop shippers can be the key for success???

Help please!!!!

I am new to salehoo and have read you’re above posting. I had assumed that myth’s 1-3 were true. And, I was concerned when I read #6 about Paypal. I will definitely be looking for another pay system in the near future. I was looking into an area for # 5 electronics. But, I was actually looking farther with electronic accessories, specifically ipod and mp3 unit accessories. Would this be better than trying to sell the units themselves? Or, should I just stay out of this area all together?

Replies welcomed!!

The accessories market is one I do not know too much about myself, however dealing in accessories would open up other supply platforms such as liquidations, and in so doing may very well present you with a cost effective purchasing method for retail sales on sites such as ebay.

I like the way you're thinking personally.

A big hello from Texas (or am I expected to say 'Howdy, Ya'll'). I am a first timer to post and obviously new to SaleHoo. I started selling odd things around the house on ebay and stumbled into a 'make money on ebay' site that ultimately endorsed DOBA which made me start thinking about becoming a serious marketer.

I began researching dropshipping since it is in itself very appealing to new marketers but after research, found out that most of them, DOBA included aren't near as fruitful as they make themselves out to be and the majority of them are downright deceptive.

After running across SaleHoo and doing my usual research, for the first time I could find nothing negative about the services being offered and I spend my hard earned money (which I do not part with very easily). I have been purveying the site now for a couple of weeks and am impressed. The
level of information is staggering and the info about PayPal has me freaking out (PayPalSucks.com). I've already gone to PayPal and started the process to transfer my money to my own account and am hooking up with First Data.

My plans seem to evolve every other day and ultimately I'd like to buy in bulk to sell online and locally but I will say that if you have very little capital, sell things that you have around the house on ebay. Go garage selling and look for things of interest, sell it on ebay and save your money for more lucrative ventures. I went to the local GoodWill to find a couple of shirts, bought three shirts for four dollars apiece just to find out when I got home that they were very expensive and I sold one on ebay for 36.00 and the other for 18.00......stupid finds like that are really cool.

I've sold over 25 karaoke CD's over the last few weeks for 8.00 each. Doesn't seem like much but over the past month I've made over 350.00 just selling junk around the house and a few things found elsewhere.

Start small, folks. That's what I'm doing......and while I'm doing, I'm learning and studying more about the prospects and opportunities available and the money I make is staying put for that future investment.

Geez.....maybe I ought to write ebooks....

Eric

That e-book may not be a bad idea Eric, welcome to the site by the way...glad you are enjoying a friendly (for the most part) little community : )

The advice you have given is 100% spot on in my opinion, and you are going about structuring yourself absolutely perfectly, I would doubt if I could add much more value to what you're already doing!

Hope to read more posts from you in the future, and I'm sure plenty will get good value out of reading them.

Cheers!

I appreciate the welcome and the encouragement. The truth is I'm no different than most these days....middle class country boy that runs heavy equipment for a living trying to raise three boys that I generally refer to as the 'children of the corn'.

I just want a better life for my boys and my wife (and maybe a Harley for me) and like everyone else, I simply can't afford to throw any amount of money away at frivolous promises (which I've done in the past) so now I'm very wary about what I put money into. I read about SaleHoo for a week before convincing myself I wasn't going to waste my money.

Sound familiar anyone?

Hey eharris,

First Welcome to Salehoo! What I can say is I can't see how you will waste your money by joining here. I am just a junior member but what I can say is you have a wide variety of great information and tools to learn from here. I will have to say from the top that to please these topics on the main forum about Jimmy(PPWDG) with a grain of salt-they information in these topics do not relate to Salehoo in any way nor does Salehoo have any involvement on which is going wrong with some people dealing with Jimmy. Believe me, you have come to the right place to learn and gather great information. I can say that this type of business is tough and requires lots of research and open-mindness to what is available. Just take your time reading the topics and check out Salehoo's Bonus Guides. They sure helped me out a lot when I joined. Again Welcome to Salehoo!

Hi
This site is a little overwelming for the first timer as myself, but I am looking for products to sell on ebay or other sites. Does anyone know a really good idea where to start looking for that perfect item to start with? Any suggestions?

If you are totally new to the game and looking to break ground on sites such as ebay, best advice is to start selling some unwanted gear from around the house.

It's old advice, but the oldest advice tends to be the best advice : )

You don't have to worry about finding suppliers, developing a product stream, and all the rest. Just list what you have and start building a few dollars and some good feedback.

Thanks for the great advice. I never knew that about Pay Pal. I will be using First Data on my website after I set up an account real soon. I hope I have success with this site. This is my first time trying something like this and it looks very promising. With all the great links, you almost can't go wrong.

Thanks SaleHoo

Hi all,
I am a newbie to this and find all the info on here a great benefit.
Its a learning curve alright and all advice input from you all is greatly appreciated. To start, when you say buy in bulk, won't this involve storage space and the extra delivery charges??
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes, buying in stock will involve needing space for storage, and that is one of the things you will have to weigh up when developing your business.

Perhaps a friend can lend you a corner of a garage to store a pallet for a few weeks, that type of thing.

Yes, having stock delivered will also had to your budget, but the idea is of course that you will be making enough margin on the products at retail to come out in front.

Of course that's always the aim......may not always happen, but that's where experience in this business is worth its weight in gold

: )

Hi Salehoo

I have just signed up and am very excited about starting my first online business.

I reside in Australia and would welcome a chat with any other Aussie online business owners to seek your advice and guidance to the online world.

I will be looking at creating my own online stores network... not using ebay for the likes..

Time to research and review some posts... I look forward to participating in this online arena.

Cheers
Lee.

thats a pretty good idea but isnt craigslist more of a local thing? i think people just expect pick it up from you in person instead of waiting a week or so to get it in the mail. though i've never used dropshipping and just listed on craigslist for the first time today. i'd like to hear what some other people w/ experience in 1 or the other think

I keep reading how ebay and paypal can add charges and when you seem like your making a profit you actually owe or lose money. Can anyone give me advice on what to do about this. I am wanting to start selling on ebay for now buying cheap wholesale lots but i dont want to be like some people and fail. Please help.

as far as the ebay fees, some1 posted a very helpful link here a few days ago, search the forum for the ebay fee calculator. as for not being like some people and fail, just soak up as much knowledge here as you can, dont be afraid to ask questions, and do your research and then do more and more and more research, til you find something that works for you. be patient and dont give up

I know what I like to sell but how do I exactly use the dropshipping? I am thinking about Craigslist since I can't have an ebay account cuz my bro has one already and there can't be two ebay accounts in one house. Thanks!

well welcome to salehoo,
i'd say take some time to browse the suppliers list and read through some of the forums to help you get some ideas of what you want to sell, what market(s) you want to sell in (ebay, bonanzle, craigslist, etc) and what type of suppliers you want to go through, (liquidations, dropshipping, etc) and never be afraid to ask questions, marc, the new community manager, aka, fudjj has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to lend advice when he can, i bug fudjj constantly!

Liquidations would be the market that I would suggest offers the best potential, however I don't have any information on current loads. I would also suggest you take a look at Link hidden: Login to view.

They may have something publicly displayed that interests you, however I suggest emailing Jeff and asking what package deals they have that are not displayed.

Some gear gets moved without ever making it to the site. Give him some details about yourself, your budget and what not, and I'm sure he will be happy work in with you if possible.

You can also direct an inquiry to our support staff to see if they can supply you some leads.

Hi everybody

Recently joined the community (which i think is great by the way - so much advice and everybody willing to help!).
As my first venture am looking for a supplier of plant window boxes and garden urns that ships internationally. Have done an initial search and there is one that supplies great stuff but does not ship internationally. If i were to do business with this one is there any way i could restrict my market just to the US given that am in the UK?

Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated.

Again thank you for being so willing to help others.....

Hi, and welcome to the community...glad to hear that you like it!

I would suggest taking a look at a mail/parcel forwarding company based in the US. That would give you a US postal address, then allowing you to purchase from any US supplier and have the products shipped to you.

You could discuss options with the company about having them redirect the packages to other addresses as well, giving you the freedom to sell anywhere without the added shipping of having to come to you first.

Not sure if anyone actually provides that type of service, but I think it would be well worth while taking a close look at the options open to you through those avenues.

Cheers

Hi Nomi, welcome to the site.

Jimmy is no longer part of the SaleHoo forum, but I will be happy to advise you.

If you are clooking at servicing a local market with ladies handbags, I would suggest that the liquidations avenue in the US would provide you with the best possible value.

You are of course going to need to worry about shipping, so you should be looking for a small loads to get yourself established.

Do you have any idea how big your market would be there, and what types of brand names your would be interested in?

Hi Fudji

Thank u so much for the response

Actually I'm not sure how big the mkt is but I know there is a market for trendy fashionable ladies handbag......it doesn't have to be a brand...pple here are price sensistive. Brand name bags are sold here for $100+ ......am just looking at brand immitation handbags. am thinking of starting small....my worry is the shipping n currency....however if I can find handbags at very low price/sales then I will still be able to make a profit .
Do u have any idea of the cost of shipping from US to the pasific?

Can u give me/or direct me to the liquidations in US...how to find them. I went on to the supplier below from ur list and saw the prices of the bags...it looks good
Link hidden: Login to view.
Has anyone buy from this supplier?

If I can find any prices lower that that it will be really great......I will also look around for other products

Thanks for ur help

Shipping is going to depend on the size of the load, so you will really need to have some specifics befroe you will get a good idea on shipping.

I haven't actually heard of the company you have mentioned, but I do have a few contacts in the surplus market, just give me a few days and I'll see what I can find that may interest you.

Cheers

Hi,
Recently joined Salehoo. I am in Australia and just stating out trying to earn some extra cash.
I'd have to say after reading Jimmy's 'Myth Exploder' It has pretty much knocked the wind out of my sails.
A lot of those things I had been intending to try, don't quite know where to start now. Seems everything I had in mind doesn't work.
My cash situation rules out Wholesale and Liqidation or any large stock purchases.
Guess I'll just have to mark this venture as another failure in my many and becoming expensive attempts at an online business.
I quite frankly don't know where to turn next.

Hi Bungy, and welcome to the site.

It's not an easy business to break into, no doubting that, but it's not impossible to generate an online income stream with very little cash.

If you're new to the game then the very first step should be to gather up some unrequired products from around the house to list. This not only gives you some valuable selling experience, but it starts to build your feedback and it costs you nothing.

Of course it also adds to your budget!

From there I would suggest you take a close look at the second hand market, garage sales, weekend markets, charity shops, local papers and so on. These avenues will give you access to products that won't break the bank, and as long as you buy right, will provide good opportunity to make margin on.

It also gets you out of the house for a while : )

Hello everyone. I am new to Salehoo and joined on 31/07/09, I have spent hours reading on this forum and have learned plenty. I checked a number of wholesalers in Salehoo's directory.
I am an extremely hard worker and have been all my life. I am new to this wholesaler/dropshipping business and wanted to give it a try. I want to succeed and will continue to work to succeed in this business. It took me weeks of research before I decided to sign up at Salehoo. I feel I have received my $67 worth just on this forum alone. I have a couple of questions for all you experienced individuals:

1) How often is the directory updated?

2) Why is it when I do a search on a specific product, does other wholesalers that has nothing to do with the product I searched for show up also
Example if I look up 'camping' wholesalers websites that has nothing to do with 'camping' shows up. I have to look at each one and weed out the ones that doesn't pertain to what I am searching for.

3) Why does a lot of these companies in the directory have 'coming soon' in areas such as 'shipping, or in other areas on their reports' that are in the directory?

4) I am considering becoming a member at another dropship wholesaler like Salehoo to get more more listings to use would any of you or have any of you done it?

Comments would be appreciated.

I am new also, but I clicked on the link on Salehoo's main page with the link stating salehoo.com/recommends/dhgate.com, I went and looked at the site, nice prices then I looked them up on Google search and everyone is trashing them...Link hidden: Login to view

If this site is supposed to get me started in dropship/wholesale biz, why are they advertising for sites that seem to be obvious scams?

Welcome to the site, and I would suggest that you search the forum for threads on DH Gate, there is quite a lot written about them here. We even have a member, voodoothree, writing about their ongoing purchases through DH Gate.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in here is peoples perception of what DH Gate actually is. Many think they are the supplier, when in fact they are not!

DH Gate is business directory listing independent suppliers to buyers, they don't supply any product at all. With most of these directory sites, you will find a variety of businesses promoting themselves, the good, the bad and the not so attractive!

It is incumbent on the buyer to research each company that they find through these types of sites, but sites like DH Gate effectively serve the purpose of linking buyers with suppliers.

Hi Sandra, and welcome to the site.

You can try searching through the directory to see if there is anything that may suit your requirements, however if you find nothing you can contact Link hidden: Login to view, and they will be happy to see what they can find for you.

You may also want to consider placing an inquiry under our wholesale suppliers forum directory, that way other members may be able to suggest suppliers that they have used or at least are aware of.

Cheers
