Just got the last funds hold i will tolerate! I just sold an atv for 500.00,
a great price but as soon as the money hit paypal, they froze it! So I'm left with all the shipping cost to cover myself. Not that I can't, but I shouldn't have to. I have a feedback of over 400 and it's 99.8 pos. PayPal has hit me hard 5 times in the last year and led to the negative feedback I've gotten.
No more! i am dropping them for good!

My question is this: Can a buyer pay me through Paymate, using their PayPal account? Or is there a better option than Paymate?

Help please!

I'm so used to hearing PayPal freezing accounts for new account holders, but I've never heard of anyone with your stats having drama with a hold being placed on the account.......that's bizarre.

Have you inquired with customer support why exactly they are putting you in this position?

Regarding Paymate, no a PayPal account is no good, has to be paid into your Paymate account by credit card. Not sure what options are available in the US, here in Oz it is Visa or MasterCard.

Is there a better option?

Not for my money. I use their service for a business of mine (not ebay related) and I couldn't be happier with the speed of transaction and the great customers service.

I think ebay is trying to go away with sellers that dropship. I'm not against it but think ebay has gotten a lot of complaints from those that dropship. I do my share of dropship and other means of selling.

I SHIPPED THIS ATV FROM MY HOME BY TRUCK TODAY. I GOT ALL THE TRANSIT INFO FROM THE DRIVER AND FAXED IT TO PAYPAL AS THE MANAGER AT PAYPAL SUGGESTED. MY FUNDS WERE NOT RELEASED! THEY SAID SINCE IT WAS A HIGH DOLLAR PURCHASE OUT OF MY NORMAL SELLING VENUE, THEY WOULD HAVE TO HOLD UNTIL MY ATV WAS DELIVERED IN VA.

ALSO PAYPAL BLAMES EBAY, EBAY BLAMES PAYPAL?

AS FOR DROPSHIPPING, FORGET IT IF YOU ARE NEW OR HAVE A FEEDBACK UNDER 100 AND IT'S AT LEAST 98% POSITIVE.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT PAYPAL, BUT UNTIL ALL SELLERS UNITE, IT WILL NOT GET ANY BETTER. IF WE ALL SWITCH TO PAYMATE, BUYERS WOULD HAVE TO USE IT! I KNOW THAT MAY SOUND DRASTIC , BUT THATS WHAT IT WILL TAKE!

Don makes a good point, I do remember some talk about ebay getting tough on drop shipping, that may well not be related to this instance, however it does remind me of everyone having problems with Chinavision listings being pulled........

Regarding PayPal, you're absolutely right......if they aren't forced to look at changing their policy by sellers voting with their feet, then they simply won't!

PayPal has always been pro buyer, but from everything you hear it seems that they are almost going out of their way to screw sellers these days.

Vendio may have a solution for Paypal. I am not sure exactly how it works, as I just started a new account with. From what I can gather is, a Vendio account offers a credit card checkout process through @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@. I forget their name, but it is offered.

So basically, every one of your customers can be taken, upon clicking the payment button to Vendio checkout and then make the payment on Vendios servers, completely off of eBay or Paypal and given the option to pay by credit card.

Now the other good thing is, you can have your customers pay with Paypal off of eBay and Paypals servers too. This 'MAY', and I say may take some of the limits off Paypal transactions as Paypal 'may' not know the payment is for eBay sales or may circumvent their software to a degree.

Vendio also offers Google checkout which may give one the ability to offer that for your eBay sales.

The other good news is if you have an auctiva account Vendio is completely free through 1-01-10.

I will update as I get more info and try this myself.

Believe me I understand where you are coming from here. Paypal crippled me last year. Saddest thing was that I was a power seller for video games. I had over 1500 feedback with a 99.7% positive. Right before Christmas I had over 100 prepaid pre-order games sold at 200.00 each. It was a huge payday, actually the largest I had ever had before as I was making a $114.00 profit after fees on each unit. On release day the vendor charged my bank account, and what, INSUFFICIENT FUNDS????? Paypal had pulled all of the money I had already received from them back out of my bank account. Totaling a sum of over $7000. The worst part of it all wasn't the charge, it was the fact that the games were so RARE. The vendor released them to another merchant, I had a TON of pissed off customers, which resulted in over 60 negative feedbacks even though they were fully refunded. Overdrawn bank account, and my most recent 60 transactions being negative ended my power seller status that took 5 years to earn and crippled my business overnight. Thanks again paypal!

Wow, it's hard to imagine that you couldn't actually mount some sort of legal action against them for that sort of net result. They just screwed a business that took 5 long years to build, sooner or later someone is going to have to make these idiots accountable!

i CAN RELATE to this! I recently got suppend from ebay because I was selling Software & they said I was not ofering a hard drive because it was OEM, however I was offering a USB cable, so after being a member of ebay for over (10) years & recenlty becoming a Power Seller I can not sell on ebay any more indifnetly. I've got serveral other sites but NO Traffice!

It is also very hard to figure out their DSR ranking system. I have 1 negative feedback last month and took my ranking from raised to standard. I wake up this morning and did not have any recent feedback but found my ranking went from standard to Lowered rank means in the red-Can't figure that out for the hell of it. I think ebay is doing some massive projects behind the scene to push out small sellers and bring in more larger sellers and retailers.

I think its because after 90 days ratings drop off. So if you look at the last 90 days it may be worse than the 90 days before. So if you didnt sell for another 90 days the neg you got would drop of the DSR ratings and your ranking would raise.

If you were selling heavy the past 30 days, with no negs, then your ranking may have raised or stayed the same.

In all honesty, I think its a good system as you would be forgiven for a neg after a certain time elapsed.

Thats what occurs when you have a mindless software system as does Paypal.
A trick that may help in the future, is to get their debit card. They frown on large withdrawals when it is sudden and not within their guideline of your business. They get panicky and think someone is pulling a fast one.

If you PM me I will give you some further tricks which I dont want to make public.

moneybookers is an option, they hold funds though, I just did 2 transactions with them, they first wanted to hold the funds for 16 days, I complained said they market instant. They lowered it to 7 days. Still sucks I drop ship. Paypal is a pain in the ass! Google checkout is worse, I set up an account there. I had my first transaction go through them for 1550.00 and they without notce closed my account, said they will not discuss due to security reasons. And guess what they have no phone support.

I have my wn merchant account, but ebay is making it difficult to allow me to use it, you follow the process, then they want documents faxed,

This is like anti business! Oh I am on other sites. Overstock. what a joke listings are high, and no one looks at the auctions. Amazon, I have a store on there and nothing sells. Then all the little sites. Ebay sure got the market for online auction

PAYPAL yanked the legs out from under my eBay business by suspending me forever b/c of my personal credit rating, instead of relying on my business credit rating. I was royally PO'd to say the least. How can you survive on eBay without a PayPal account? I've figured a way around it now, but it sure knocked the wind out of my sails.

I HATE TO SAY IT WITH ALL THE BULL***T PAYPAL PUTS SELLER'S THROUGH WHETHER IT BE DROPSHIP OR COMPANY WHOLESALE IT IS ALL BETTER TO TAKE BUSINESS AWAY FROM THEM. I MYSELF SETUP A MERCHANT ACCOUNT THROUGH FLAGSHIP MERCHANT SERVICES AND HAVE SETUP A PARAGRAPH WITH A BETTER PURCHASE PRICE AND ADVISE IF MERCHANT OPTION IS USED TO PURCHASE RATHER THAN PAYPAL. I ALSO APPLY A SURCHASE FOR USING PAYPAL OVER MERCHANT ACCOUNT. IT HAS GONE GREAT FOR MY COMPANY ALLOWING BUYERS TO PURCHASE WITHOUT THE BULLSH*t OF PAYPAL ISSUES AND GARUANTEE A GREAT SALE.

Fuck Pay-Pal! They think they are 'GOD' ! I've had the same thing happen to me. I'm done with them Too! Use other companies that really want to help you. Pay-pal is just to big now and think they are it ! Well Good Luck! Take Care!
