Hi All,

Has anyone dealt with Midtown Closeout Jewelry Warehouse? I see they are a trusted seller with Salehoo, but with only 1 feedback. I'm really keen on ordering some of the jewelry but am skeptical about the quality and if it really is what it says, ie. gold diamonds. Please help, has anyone else purchased from them? its min $300 US I'm from NZ and thats almost $400 in my dollars so I want to be sure I'm a) going to get it and b) its going to be real!!

Thanks for any FB

Well from searching on the net. I have noticed they are well established on the web.

There is no rippoffreports on this company or complaints with the badbuisnessbeuro that I can find.

Thanks Jimmy,

So that means they aren't ripoffs. I really want to order from them but the minimum is $1000 USD!! so I want to be sure I'm getting the jewelery they claim it is so I can make money back on it! Will post feedback on them if i go ahead!! take a deep breath Julz!

Also, I'm concerned about the shipping, they use FedEx economy with insurance. Am I really going to be insured if they don't arrive!!

Julz

Well from what I know, If you pay for insurance then Fed Ex will be liable for the transaction after it leaves the sellers hands

Hi!
I am new here. I am also interested in this liquidator. The minimum is not 1k, it's 300.00. I am tempted to buy but I don't want to get stuck if it's cheap junk. I have an excellent rep on eBay and don't want it spoiled by selling garbage. There is a seller on ebay who sells the same type of items I am looking at, but these are not the same designs so I don't think he got the items from here. He claims the jewelry is 14k and doesn't say at all if the gems are lab created or real. His opening bid prices on almost everything is 14.99. Some of his feedback states that the stuff is not real. One buyer took it to his jeweler who confirmed that it's not real gold nor a real stone. One buyer claims the stones are loose and another said not worth sending back but would be good to give a child. Ack! I messaged the seller asking him if the stones are lab created. Auction ends in 20 minutes, still no response.

Also if you look closely at this liquidators pieces by enlarging the pics, especially on the diamond jewelry the stones are cloudy and the settings don't look that great. Crooked stones, on an angle in a lot of the settings.

I guess I am just not too sure on this one If anyone tries, can they post?

Thanks!
Carolyn

I have seen this firm at the ASD jewelry show.
They are legit.
Everyone seems to think everything is a scam or a ripoff when ordering online. People really its simple if you prepay with a major credit card and the seller doesnt deliver you can call your card company and dispute the charges. Your protected 100%. If you prepay with paypal or bank wire you really have no protection. I would feel really safe if a merchant took credit cards because if he was a scam chances are he not going to have a merchant account. If the seller just took paypal and wires then I would run the other way really fast...... JOE

From looking at their site they seem to be pretty legit. If they were not, I don't think that they would allow you to buy COD (cash on delivery) which they do. Also in addition they allow you a 7 day inspection period.
Go to the site and click on 'company info' at the bottom of the page. When you do that a page will come up and at the very top, click on 'sales'. It gives all the detailed information about what credit cards the accept and other types of payment, such as COD, Inspection periods, return RMA numbers, and contact email addresses.
I can pretty much tell you this. If a company is selling junk they are certainly not going to offer to sell it to you using cod as payment...

Thanks so very much for the informative responses. My real concern was not that they wouldn't deliver, but that the items would be subpar in quality.
I am going to give them a try. thanks so much for all the great advice even if I am not the OP

Thanks wholesalejoe for your advice re: purchasing using credit card or paypal. I'm in New Zealand so the min order they will ship is 1000USD and I'm concerned about customs coming in and also it actually getting here with jewelery of that value! will give it some more thought!

Thanks ;-)

Julz77 l am in Australia and l beleive NZ customs and GST stuff is the same. Any orders over 1K attract both. As for the Fedex stuff i have had over 20 fedex packages sent to me from USA this year. They lost one package for 3days and then found it the driver delivered it to the wrong address. Package did arrive to me (as it was my neighbour a few doors up) unopened. I took them (Fedex)to town as it was to me over 5k of jewellery. They quickly refunded my postage costs, and were very understanding and quick to help. Besides this order, l love fedex. Package arrives before due (and l'm in rural area of Victoria). Can check online status, and l have found here in Aust, are less likely to be opened through customs. Recommend Fedex and DHL over EMS anyday.

So has anyone purchased from them and can say how the jewelry looks? Is it quality?

Oh by the way..about tbat seller on ebay selling his 'gold' and gem jewelry for 14.99. He did get back to me. It's junk. Of course he didn't put it that way. Said it's layered in genuine 14k gold which is better than real gold because the finish will last longer (huh?) and it's care free. The 'gems' are lab created (fake) which is better because I can buy bigger stones that way and they are perfect as opposed to real stones which have natural imperfections. I wanted to laugh in his virtual face to be honest. It's a good lesson though for anyone buying to ask questions before placing bids. The way he has his auctions worded it seems that people are buying the real deal and when they get it, it's nothing but junk.

I have bought jewelry from them and and for the most part its very good.you have to read as a lot is only 10k and i always look for 14k.sometimes it sells very well and other times you can't move it,but i think its like that with everything.but I was only disappointed once, but all other times they have proved to be very nice pieces.

After sitting on a dead tracking number for over a week with no response to emails, I emailed them yesterday saying I was going to file a chargeback to get my money back. Here is their response to my last email-
Excuse me but if your going to be in business you might want to learn
how to talk to people with some respect and understanding before you
start threating them. There was a simple typo in the UPS tracking
number. We are human and we do make mistakes, unfortunately we are not
as perfect as you are. Below is the correct tracking number and
information for your package which is rescheduled to be delivered today.
We have no more control over UPS ground delivery times than you do. You
can file a compliant with saleshoo or anybody else you like as we are
not even a member of that site. We also have no tolerance for people
that communicate with us this manner and we have terminated your account
on our site which means you are no longer allowed on our site or too
purchase from it.
================================================
Now mind you this is after I placed the order on July 3rd. It's now July 12th. Tracking was dead. I emailed them last week and never got a response from them. So this is what I emailed to them-
This order says shipped but still tracking says invalid. This supposedly shipped on July 5th. Please just refund my credit card charge. If I don't see a credit asap I am going to file a chargeback with my bank. I am also filing a complaint with salehoo.
Signed my name.

So you decide if you want to deal with these people. I was stunned they emailed this response to me, especially since they ignored the emails I sent to them last week that the tracking was dead and to please let me know if it actually shipped or not as I was getting concerned. All very polite emails, that went unanswered.

Do you still have this email? If it does not conflict with any of your personal info. Email it to us at Link hidden: Login to view (please include the header info as well} And a small note about this incident.

Id also advise you to file a review on our site with this company so other members can see it.

I would certainly advise you to file a chargeback on this company if you have not recieved your products yet.

Im not saying they are a horrible company but saying stuff like this to a buyer is most definately not a professional approach to buisness.

Oh Jimmy, it get's better. I will email you EVERYTHING that has transpired since. This person, who claims he is the owner but refuses to give his last name, is now telling me he is going to make me pay for shipping. I have since filed a chargeback. The box did arrive and I refused it. It was totally crushed beyond belief. Since he terminated my account anyway I told him I was going to refuse the package and will not be responsible for any charges as HE is the one who terminated my account. His return email was viscious.
