Hi alexyes,

More prominent Gem laboratories that can provide certificates /grading on diamonds and loose stones are -

• GIA - Gemological Institute of America (New York City and Los Angeles)
• EGL - European Gemological Laboratories (New York City, Los Angeles, Vancouver & Toronto)
• AGSL - American Gem Society Laboratory Services (AGS is a sister concern of GIA, Las Vegas)
• HRD - Diamond High Council (Antwerp, Belgium)
• Gubelin Labs in Lucerne, Switzerland; Does mostly R & D
• IGI - International Gemological Institute (Worldwide)
And several other local labs like AGA, GCAL, etc.

Before buying genuine diamond/precious stone/gold jewelries you also need to clarify the merchant’s acceptable return policy, the shipping method used and the insurance (determine your liabilities in case the gem gets lost or damaged in transit). Your online payment should be secure (credit card or PayPal), and do check for the website’s ecommerce certification (like VeriSign).

And here's a SaleHoo blog related to jewelry selling Link hidden: Login to view

Hope this helps. Do you need a list of jewelry suppliers? :)
