Return Shpping outside my country

Hello Everybody,

I am new here and glad to join Salehoo because of high quality information and excellent support.
I live in India and want to drop shop refurbished and used items (any kind of, preferably networking products e.g. wireless routers,switch etc) in india as well as outside. Since, importing from somewhere and export to other countries is very expensive, I think drop shopping can be a good solution to save some money as comparison to pay two times(may be am wrong).
My concern is related to return shipping in other countries. In India, Customer can return the item to my home address and i send further to my drop shopping company. But when I drop ship other countries it cannot be possible.I asked many suppliers on internet about return shipping to their address but they simply denied. Also I am completely dependent on email communication as calling to other countries are very expensive.

Second, can selling refurbished and used items get some margin? I am expecting not very high margin right now.

Please Suggest and provide some good suppliers list from India as well as outside who can drop ship for me.

Your question is in 3 parts, so regarding cost effectiveness. Your logic about using dropshipping ssi correct to a point, but it really directly relates to what sort of wholesale volume you would be purchasing in. Dropshipping is never going to give you a purchase price that wholesale purchasing would, so I would suggest maybe exploring the wholesale option at least.

It will of course come down to how much volume you purchase, but you may find that even with importing, the margin is still better than dropshipping direct to customers.

Regarding customer returns, that is going to be a problem with dropshipping. It comes down to the supplier themselves if they are willing to accept returns. Of course if you were wholesaling, then everything would be forwarded back to you.

Part 3, the margin, well this relates back to my first point about wholesale. It's going to give you the best purchase price, but margin will come down to how much volume you purchase and your import related costs of course.

It's hard to really give a blanket view in general, that's something that comes down to an individual manufacturer. You may find two products from two suppliers, both do the same thing and both the same price, but a difference in quality. Whether drop shipping or wholesale, you should get a sample to test yourself before even thinking selling, that's not fail safe, but it's the best way to test the product for yourself.
