I need site design help

I am trying to change the background color on my homepage where the pictures and header description is
have a look Link hidden: Login to view
It's an ebay store, the middle package.

I'm in html and can't figure out background code

Try Link hidden: Login to view for HTML help.

If I am correct, this should make my homepage grey. For some reason nothing happens.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing it correctly. I did what Link hidden: Login to view said to do and other sites also. Can you do this with ebay stores?
